Hey, I saw this on a list I'm on for local raves and whatnot, and I thought it was kind of interesting... I found Poe strategically hidden in there among some big name DJs... I doubt it's our Poe, but I still thought it was kind of interesting that there's possibly another musician out there with the name.. Looks like it's going to be a crazy party, so if anyone is near Brooklyn go check it out.. (Ed debates a trip to Brooklyn... hmmm... naked of course.. :) Ed ed@poe.org *plur* >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. For anybody who wants it, here is the general info + list of stores selling tix + DJ schedule for various stages. Tickets are $30 through the record stoes, $35 through TicketBastard. One of the songs was really psycotic sounding and the other was ok pretty wierd but ok. Just wondering if anyone else had any opinions on the subject... let me know.... ~Crissy - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "Lifes to short to listen to shitty music!" - - Poe X103.9 _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. I've only heard the second of their releases. I've heard that the other, or at least one of the three versions of the other, doesn't sound like NIN at all. I'm not really sure what that means as I have not heard it myself. I don't know, the Star Fuckers, Inc was ok, still industrial and very Trentish. I think I'm just dying for new NIN that almost anything would be good. What were your impressions of the other song, besides pretty weird? What was it like? Just wanted to clear that up. Russ Gillett PS - Can anyone get me a copy of the band version of "Angry Johnny"? I would prefer a CD copy, but a cassette copy will do in a pinch. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. In the article Trent said that the album was about "going off on tangents." Comparing it to a falling feather, one song starts at one point, drifts to another, and the next song picks up where the last left off. From that, I think you'd need the whole album to get the full effect of each song. BTW DO NOT BY HALO 13 FROM WAL-MART! Featuring live renditions from the recent "FROM THE CHOIRGIRL HOTEL" tour, the album will also include 12 new Amos penned/produced tracks. Among the new songs are "Bliss," which explores father-and-daughter ties, and "Glory Of The '80s" about Amos' time as a working musician in Reagan-era Los Angeles. The as-yet-to-be-determined first single is scheduled to hit radio on August 6th with a commercial single likely to follow. Of the new album, Tori remarks, "I had originally thought we were tracking stuff for the B-Sides album, and all of these songs kept coming. The writing gods decided to stop by, and you try and be there when the muse decides she wants to hang out with you." The "5 1/2 Weeks Tour," which will see Tori sharing a double bill with Alanis Morissette, kicks off August 18th in Ft. Lauderdale. Check out the Tour Database on the Atlantic site for a complete itinerary! In related news. designer Steve Madden unveiled a new fashion shoe named after Tori AmosJuly 1st, with proceeds benefiting RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). The shoe will be available at Steve Madden stores nationwide and at the Steve Madden Website, as will additional promotions - -- including a contest to win tickets to the Tori Amos/Alanis Morissette concerts as well as on the Steve Madden Website. Tori and RAINN's relationship with Steve Madden began last summer, when Steve Madden Ltd. sponsored RAINN's presence on the 1998 Lilith Fair Tour. RAINN, operates the country's only nationwide hotline for survivors of sexual assault, 1-800-656-HOPE. RAINN's hotline--a partnership of 828 local rape crisis centers across the country--has helped more than 270,000 victims since it was founded. This causes them to be rare so the price goes up. I had a Wal-mart version of Smashing Pumpkin's "Siamese Dream" and was able to sell it for $25 at a local Cd store because it had a censored cover (silverfuck is normally written on there) and the whole was messed up... Just get a normal copy too if you don't want all your friends to laugh at you... but I wouldn't know about that.
