He lived here in Australia most of his life, although I believe he lives in England now (I guess the hot weather was messing with his paleness ;). His first band, while he was still at school, was called the Boys Next Door, whose most famous song is called Shivers - you might know it, "And my baby's so vain she is almost a mirror and the sound of her name sends a permanent shiver down my spi-i-i-i-i-i-ne". Then he started a band called The Birthday Party, who are credited as one of the very first punk bands ever (and usually the best of the old-skool), and they rock beyond belief. This turned into the Bad Seeds, which has been around for about 15 years and gone through many different lineups. If you like the Bad Seeds (if you're interested, I would recommend 'Let Love In' as a starting point, it has Red Right Hand on it) you might also like to check out ex-members new projects, such as Blixa Bargeld's German experimental-noise frenzy Einsturzende Neubauten (try saying that one 5 times fast when you're drunk), Barry Adamson (who did parts of the Lost Highway soundtrack), Anita Lane (also his ex-girlfriend) and Mick Harvey. He's also done a few duets with people like Kylie Minogue and PJ Harvey. His music tends to be very dark (he did an entire album about murders), violent, powerful, and also often very soppy. He's lovely :~) He's also written a couple of books, including the awesome "And the Ass Saw the Angel", and he's been in a few movies. The band "Limp Bizkit" visited the local educational radio station http://wber.monroe.edu (RealAudio) and was iterviewed by station manger Joey G who did get around to the question of pay for play, and I think it was Fred who gave the answer that the station in question refused to play the band, while they have a huge following in the area who were upset that they could not hear Limp Bizkit on the radio, so as a GIFT to the fans and a fuck you to the station they paid to have there music played. I can't say that the bands paying for play in oregon has anything to do with my liking them here in NY, I doubt that band paying one station in oregon to play them has anything to do with the national and world recognition the band now enjoys. For those of you who enjoy Limp Bizkit you can listen to them at http://wber.monroe.edu where they get played often for free, cuz people luv um....... sp00k irc.us.dal.net #poe #angry-psychos ICQ 9934870 - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Saturday, June 19, 1999 1:53 PM Subject: NPR: "limp bizkit" is awful. > > In a message dated 6/19/99 2:50:16 PM Atlantic Daylight Time, > gwoot2@hotmail.com writes: > > > LiMp BiZkIt KICKS ASS!!!!! > > "limp bizkit" pays radio stations to play their music. > > > > -Xen o > > http://travel.to/xeno/ > ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jun 1999 21:35:14 CDT From: Gabrielle Wootton Subject: Crappy last names NPR I feel really sorry for some people. Some people really get it bad when it comes to their last names. I was bored so I thought that I would post the 3 WORST last names I have seen for a long time. 1. Satan- Miroslav Satan, forward for the Buffalo Sabres who are playing the Dallas stars (go stars! I live in dallas) for the stanley cup. It's prounced shattan, but it's still pretty bad. 2. Rape- Ashley Rape, on a lower school locker at my school. 3. Moomjiam- Chad Moonjiam, he was in summer school with me. At least I think it was kind of funny. And in my opinion, Wootton. I have to spell it out for everyone or they will spell it Wooten, Wootten, Wooton, Wotton, Wotten, Woten, Woton, and a variety of other ways. Does anyone else know of any really sucky last names? _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. I don't have to fool anyone. What I said is truth. you owe me an apology. you called me a liar and you called me a prick. i did nothing to you. i do not understand why a child like yourself would lash out against someone like me for merely stating the truth. you are obviously a troubled little girl in need of some attention. perhaps mommy and daddy don't hug you? or perhaps mommy and daddy got divorced and now you're in the middle of a huge fight over who has to take you. i mean, no one wants the retarded ugly kid. You use this line too often pig girl. You need to come up with some new emotion and stop feeling sorry for people. In a message dated 6/19/99 11:24:46 PM Atlantic Daylight Time, BuffDaddy@mediaone.net writes: "limp actually did pay station DJ's to play their music. Xeno was correct." Jason is intelligent. And, in closing, there is something wrong with pay for play. It leads into a sticky situation where radio stations will eventually want to be paid for playing all music. Thus, everything a radio station broadcasts will be commercials. Therefore, a band with no money to bribe a station with will not be able to get airtime. Understood pig girl? Good, i knew I could explain it simply enough so that even your tiny little girl mind would get it. -Xeno http://travel.to/xeno/ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 13:44:14 +1000 From: sxtxitxcxh Subject: npr: xr heh... i've been a lurking angry psycho for... god knows how long now..
