It's funny, in the worst sense of the word. Dead children in Littleton, a brief drive from Denver, a stone's throw from Lakewood, where I work. A high school named after Colorado's state flower, the exquisite columbine. My wife, who teaches dance to Speakeasy Winter Guard, attended a winter guard competition at Columbine High School not three weeks ago. It's funny, because one moment I'm at work attending to shit, and the next moment my eyes are filling up because they were fuckin' KIDS, man! 25 dead. KIDS! And omigod, I'm to be a parent soon. To see the parents whose kids were okay, and to see the parents whose kids are dead. And what of the parents of the killers? What kind of hell was unleashed in Colorado? And Colorado's governor wants to make guns even more accessible...go figure.
