I've ignored the list for a bit and skipped and deleted the last 663 messsages (maybe I shoulda waited for 3 more?) but could stay gone no longer . . . I just have to say that this song totally KICKS MAJOR ASS!!! I ordered the Interstate '76 soundtrack after deciding that (A) I didn't have enough funk in my music collection, (B) I saw the group Bullmark (the group that plays on this soundtrack) in concert before and they did a kick-ass job, so the fact that they're on the soundtrack makes it that much sweeter . . . so i got it and got the CD-R copy of "Control" by itself on a CD. I loaded the CD player . . . . and BOOM the distorted electric bass and POE's distinctive voice rang out clear into the Willamette Valley and the animals did take notice! CONTROL ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! I love the track. I played it for some friends @ a party over easter for a friend (who turned 18) and a few ppl there ran up to me and were like "Is this POE? I LOVE POE! Where'd you find this????????" So I told them about poe.org, the angry-psychos, and gametraxx.com where they could get the promo CD. The RealMedia of course doesn't work, it rarely does. The MPGs are great. The big one is a bit dark in places but I don't know if that's how it is on your tape too. I played it last night for a friend of mine - the words perfectly express the relationship she had/has with her dad. So she asked who it was and if I had anything else by her... A new fan!! And, by this point I've either converted my neighbors or just driven them stark raving mad - I play that track innumerable times in the evenings (very thin walls). It just so completely draws me in.
