I am impressed with Leah and really not with Natalie. Leah IS a singer/songwriter (as opposed to 'singer') and to the best of my knowledge wrote most of the lyrics to all of her songs. In the second CD her name appears as a sole credit on most of the songs and Rick Neigher is on most of the Veiled ones with her. Given that Rick is a quality producer/songwriter himself I'm sure he's had influence across the board, but Leah's style is not terribly similar to the music he has written/produced in the past. .so it's terribly unlikey that he's done much more of the work. In all likelihood it's just like it is with most every budding singer/songwriter . . she wrote lyrics/music for the first album but he did a termendous amount of work assisting/writing/tuning. Then the second album has the singer/songwriter being much more free/in control and usually has a wider variety of musical 'styles' associated. After that you tend to have something a bit more 'in the middle' - -Bill ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Nov 1998 11:50:22 -0500 From: "Bill Holz" Subject: RE: npr......l andreone Umm. are you SURE we're talking about the same person? She does write all her own material and her voice is much more mature and less nasal then it was just a year or two ago. Her new album shows off her vocal talents to a greater degree then her first and in reality her voice is even stronger now. By the way on a plus side both her albums are extremely well recorded. At any rate she could be considered alternative. She does try to mix many different genre's into her music however. Totally 100% worth seeing in person. Do yourself a favor and listen to her.
