Now, this station plays the "hits" of 98-- Backstreet Boys, N Sync, Next, etc. (I lke some of the songs they play, just other things are annoying.) Anyway, so my sister asked me to say what i wanted to hear, and since i always spread my poeness, i asked for poe. He said they didn't have anything by poe, but this weekend the band was going to be in the top 40 so they were going to start playing her. Any details about this? I mean, is it like, Rick Dees Top 40 when he has people live on there (Is Rick Dees still on??) Thats it about POE- But i thought i needed to tell you about what is going on - part of why we called the radio in the first place. Some high school students in a small town near me wanted to have a huge end of the summer bash. So they and friends from a neighboring town put together Cookstock. (The guy who came up with the idea- his last name is Cook.) So in its second year and after many improvement ideas, here is this years thing: Eleven local bands playing (for free) in a commitee members backyard. To get in, one canned good or any other items are donated, and then at then end of the two days they are all donated to local food banks. Area businnesses donated money (this is the improvement from last year when the parents ended up paying over 1000 for t-shirts and food when profits didnt match up) for the food and tshirts available there. I just thought this was the neatest idea-- and my sister was coreecting the radio guy for messing up her friends band name :P anyway, i thought that was really neat for bands just starting out or even who have been playing for a while so they can get their name out there, and its a good cause. _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I mean, negative side to sex- addiction, disease, physical inabillity to have it 24-7 negative to drugs-death, disease, addiction negative to rock and roll-? is there one? I guess hearing damage. my friends ears bled concert once, but he seems ok now. ok, and if you remove all those negatives, you could judge on which allows the most pure physical sensation, and supposedly (I wouldn't know) a lot of drugs give a sensation more intense and plesurable than orgasm, so I guess drugs would win out. but I wouldn't judge solely on pleasure. sex and rock and roll can both be a type of communion. between two people, between a person and their soul or environment, etc. so in that sense they both easily beat out drugs. So, I guess the one of the three that gives the most of both worlds- would be sex. Maybe a little less pleasure than drugs, a little more than rock and roll. (besides if no negatives includes no physical limitations, there's no way some one could pass that up! I mean every one wants to be cooler than Sting once in a while) OK, that is the end of my rambling thoughts on the latest NPR subject.
