In an attempt to get off the TV and movies thread, does anyoneknow of any good books to suggest? I just finished reading: The Doors of Perception - Aldous Huxley Heaven and Hell - Aldous Huxley Into the Wild - Jon Krakauer (in one day) Al lof which I highly suggest, but I'm not sure what else to pick up... I'm looking for good books that make you think some, not just run of the mill John Grisham or Mary Higgins Clark books. Books that you close the cover with new thoughts and ideas in your head. Some of the other books I've read in the past are: Brave New World 1984 The Teachings of don Juan A Clockwork Orange The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Anyone out there with similar interests, and suggestions? One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (liked the book a lot too) The Crow (liked the 'graphic novel' too) Milo and Otis (another cool kids movie) Contact (just saw 2/3 of it the other night) Monty Python stuff (it's classic...) And finally a movie I saw the other night called "Fear the Black Hat" I believe.. IT's hilarious if you know anything about the rap industry. Right now, I'm reading, "A History of God - The 4,000-Year Quest of Judaism, Christsianity, and Islam", by Karen Armstrong. It's rather intriguing. And on my pile of books to read is the Unabridged version of "Les Miserables", plus the abridged version based on the movie, the Charles Dickens' novel, "Great Expectations", and a book I won in a contest entitled "Firebird", by Janice Graham.
