Sorry that sounded so negative, it is a good idea! Jodie >> Hey, it's Ed, you know, that boyfriend of ashley who's borrowing her account for a reason not worth going into explanation... but anyways... From my experiences meeting Angry-Psychos and Poe, it has always been good.. I've made new friends around the country, and I talk to them and visit them and vice versa.. :) (Look out Ohio AP's, I'm coming.. :) When I met Poe in Richmond and DC she was more than nice, and happy to see all of us and did her best to spend time with us.. Her road manager? had to pick her up and drag her out of the room so she could get ready to go on stage!! But it was fun, and I got to put a lot of faces behind email addresses... So I'm all in favor of having a press conference with Poe.. It'd be fun and maybe a bit disorganized, but oh well.. if she has the time, I have more than enough personally.. :) Next step, convince Mtv.. :) I've never seen the show, so I have no idea what it's like, but if they could set up a press conference type atmosphere for a bunch of APs (hopefully east coast, but if not, I can fly.. :) The only problem is that we tend to be more mature about meeting Poe. We wouldn't do the jumping up and down shrill screaming bit that those teenage girls do over Hanson... All we would need is Jarrod there to organize us... "Alright everyone get in line, if you've never met Poe get in the back.." "damn.. Boys to Men. Although mainstream, they have also been around for a while, and not put something out for a while. 2. Susan Lucci. Yes, she is a very popular soap opera star, but not really the type of person who is new, cutting edge, or with mass appeal. I think the main point of fanatic is to let very dedicated fans do an interview that is interesting and a little different than the standard interview. and about A&R people only pushing their artist onto TV when they have something new coming out- I think it may be true, but POE has occasionally done things (like loveline) when she hasn't had much new out other than soundtrack songs. Beyond that POE is so loyal to the angry psychos, even if her A&R people didn't think it was a good idea, she would probably do it if the angry psychos were interested >Folks, >sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but generally what the media (is mtv >media? or just shite?) tends to promote bands/singers with new stuff >out. >Not to say that it won't happen that a psycho get to interview poe, but >it >will likely be closer to when her new album comes out, and her >promoter/publicist feels like getting her on tv. not to sound overly >cynical, but just know how it goes... > > >-Mark ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Aug 1998 19:46:36 PDT From: "Speed GT" Subject: re:fanatic Getting to interview poe would be awsome; however, right about now it would be great for her to simply stop by the chat room. Poe will put on a free concert. we will all be there. MTV will supply food and a commercial sponsor. then, i will be on the tv show. i will interview poe...then i will take a flight to nyc and track down tabitha soren. i know she's hiding in that building somewhere, just waiting....and then i will personally take her wig off and call her a capon. thank you...now on to the news. you know, what's the deal...why is everyone so hard on MTV? i mean, come on, don't you love watching the real world? i mean, some of those scripts are damn elaborate. and the acting is superb! you'd think they hired actors but no, with this soap opera, those are 'real' people! and they don't get paid! how cunning of MTV! And let's take a peek at Yo! MTV Raps...(please note: Xeno doesn't know if this is still on the air but he saw in on about five years ago) there is a fine quality show. they...uh, play rap...yeah, well i guess the novelty wears off. And then there is Road Rules....the real world...in the car pool lane! what innovators these people at MTV are!!! but i must admit.... celebrity deathmatch is kinda funny. and matt pinfield knows everything about everything! -Xeno, http://travel.to/xeno/ p.s. yeah, show me that tall annoying guy with the bad voice saying awesome and waggling his preposterously large hands at the camera a few times...and could the viewer request hour take random requests so i don't have to watch pre-packaged crap? oh, and another thing...my website (http://travel.to/xeno/) has um...free,....something. yeah free something, go get some! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Aug 1998 20:29:09 PDT From: "TJ 13" Subject: Re: fanatic Their doing a fanatic with Hootie(yes the same hootie that nobody has heard from for years). We all say we hate Mtv but how many of us watch it. I know i do. I feel that deep down we would all like to see it happen. And if each of us were to email mtv once a day one of two things will happen. 1.Poe is on fanatic 2. We force mtv to change emails because of the constant bombardment of AP letters. Both sound pretty cool. In fact, i first heard of poe on much. they did a show on her, SPOTLIGHT. they do an artist, tell ya about em, show videos, have interviews. it was very well done, so i went and bought the cd, that was over two years ago, maybe 3, god i am old, dont even remember what summer it was, just know i bought it at a b ball tourney i was playin in. im done, bye ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Aug 1998 22:02:26 -0700 From: "Tammie McClung" Subject: Re: fanatic - -- On Wed, 05 Aug 1998 14:05:19 Choklit Cow wrote: > > >>yes, this is poe related >> >>while watching this show last night, my sis and i were discussing who >we >>would meet.
