But, i have my 2 cents to pop in here. Somesay humans are more important, some say animals are more important, some say that we are equal, but some humans are inferior because some humans are bad. I say, we are equal, we are all animals. Eating animals is part of the food chain. However the mistreatment of animals at some meat farms is horrible and unethical. However in nature you will find other animals who will sometimes kill not of neccesity, but for the hell of it. Many kinds of cats like to "play with their food" before they kill it. Call it nature, call it instinctual torture. Frankly I feel all living beings are important, whether they be human, animal, plant, etc. I think humans do not respect nature maybe as much as each other. I also do not believe in a bad human. I would willingly give my life for any human, animal, etc. if it was needed. A little love and support can do wonders for all walks of life. I have found that even the most hardened criminal still feels hurt and rejection like the rest of us, and if maybe we put our hate aside and learn to love those who stand for everything we are against, maybe their behavior would change. For those who have never known love and acceptance, love is a very powerful thing, it can turn lives around. So I am asking you all to think of others, love your fellow living creatures no matter what. It will make them feel better and it will warm your heart as well. - -Becky =O) Poetry page: http://www.pathetic.org/member-works.cgi?siteid=876026929 Web site: http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~acrn/djs/psycho.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Jun 1998 12:58:29 EDT From: Pagan5240@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR!!! animals vs humans I agree totally. Since we are all animals why do we feel so superior und untouchable to everything else. When someone goes and swims out in the ocean and gets attacked by a chark everybody asks why. Its because we are in HIS home and he was hungry. I think in the end we will all regret how we have treated some animals because when the ones that we need and are important to our survival are gone or extinct we might stop and think but then it will be too late. Most impressive. I, the instigator of this discussion (if anyone can remember that far back), believes in the survival of the fittest. We are smarter, not actually smarter but more technologically intelligent, than animals. So that makes us more powerful. Higher up on the food chain. We have no natural enemies. We can eat whatever we want. It doesn't mean we have the right to abuse anything we want. Humans SHOULD treat everything with respect but we don't always. That's not anyone's fault no matter what opinion they hold. Anyone like poetry ? I wrote this. What do you think.
