It was just so cool that so many people who didn't know each other aside from each other's email address perhaps. Every time I watch the little snipit of video that seems to be so unable to have captured the entire feel and experience of the trip, I get nostalgic, well not nostalgic, but really wanting to do it again.. :) Just thought I might jog some memories... If you were unable to be a part of the Richmond/DC experience, well, I'm sure similar experiences will happen when Poe tours again... But do you guys remember, say: breakfast at that little pancake place where someone's fries weren't cooked enough? or the little book kept by the Buffalo Crew (it was tehm, right?) that documented their trek down (including cops sited), Kristina having the AP shirts (aqua blue) delivered to the hotel at the very last minute, early morning AP wake up calls by Rick Masters (I had nothing to do with it.. :), The Poe Pub that the 'older' (i.e. of legal drinking age) AP's visited, the infamous Econolodge, who #1: thought I was 18 and #2: thought each room only had 2 people in it., what about the minivan me and Kent drove up with the soap writing we had done at a rest stop on the way up, the 12" promo posters that were passed out, the distribution of the 2nd Tape Tree, Becky's wet hair, the signs that spelled out "ANGRY-PSYCHOS RULE", the flyers we passed out (I think I still have a bunch laying around that hid in my backpack), Poe's Happy Birthday to Jarrod at the 9:30 Club, waiting patiently to see if Poe would have any free time after the DC show, chasing Poe's bus in the minivan through DC, waiting at the BuzzFest to get backstage, and getting asked two thousand times to stay off the grass :), the drive back to Richmond where I was falling asleep at the wheel (whoops.. :o , backstage with Poe and Cameron signing stuff, seeing Poe for the first time in person and running up and giving her a great big hug (personal memory :), Poe's yellow sunglasses, the huge AP photo in Richmond, Jarrod and his Poe catcher's helmet, oh, and of course, Poe's beautiful performances.. :) Im not exactly sure why this whole shin-dig has left such a memory in my mind. I think a good part of it is the fact that this was my best memory before all the shit hit the fan and I was sent away. Things changed since then, I've lost the long black hair, people have signed off the list, and we lost Spring. For those of you who didn't know Spring, you missed out on a great person. I didn't get a chance to get to know her as well as I would have liked, but I did get to meet her in Richmond, and we had many a conversation in the Poe.org chatroom (don't worry, I won't start on the memories from the chatroom..) Spring has left a mark in my memory as well, as I know she has for other people. *sigh...sniff* alright... emotions are in check.... Memories are powerful things. Memories are one of the things that make us who we are, how we live, and what life means to us. Memories, good bad or indifferent, can have great impact. The Richmond/DC trip had an impact on me, and if it weren't for Poe, the AP list, and everyone involved, it would have never happened. The Angry-Psychos have become a great influence in ym life at this point. We have had our ups and downs, but overall, I'm glad that I have spent over a year involved in this, and I don't ever want to see it die. I love you all... Nice post. As a follow-up, if anyone was or wasn't a participant in the Richmond/DC trip, the trip is highlighted at www.angry-psychos.com under the "Events" section... well, the Richmond section is up, the DC portion seems to be giving Jarrod (Happy Birthday, btw) some problems. Anyway, it's not as good a recap as Ed's, but at least it captured the moment at the time. Also, for those of you who remember Spring Fertig, there is still a page up dedicated to her memory. It's just a simple guestbook, but it's the thought that counts. It's at www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Boardwalk/7607/spring.html I too had a good experience a year ago in Richmond and DC. It was a time before everyone's life seemed to fall apart, and it did leave wonderful memories. You'll find it in the last paragraph. http://www.villagevoice.com/ink/music/16kushner.shtml Though it remains to be seen whether this newfangled marketing plan translates into sales, more gametracks are on the way. In fact, some artists aren't merely pawning their songs for games, they're pawning themselves. Luscious Jackson's Jill Cunniff provides the voice-over for an upcoming Sega game, Enemy Zero. Poe recorded a couple songs and digitized her body to star opposite Bruce Willis in Activision's Apocalypse. The game's special effects are "way more expensive than any video I could afford," admits Poe, who hopes to feature them in her next video for MTV. On the downside, she says being inside a computer game feels rather creepy: "I'm this superhero character who gets completely dehumanized." So anyway...I like the song so....I went to Blockbuster to listen to their CD, but they didnt' have it....didn't even have a card for them! Can anyone tell me if they know where I can find it and anything about the band? Oh, and when I was at Blockbuster I listened to Torn by Endaswap and 32 Flavors by Ani....I must say I liked 32 flavors by Ani more than alana's version....can anyone tell me if that album is a good example of her work? I rather enjoyed a few of the songs.....wondering if it's typical Ani. Now for Torn it was..interesting...I definitely liked it! But it was odd..I kept expecting some poppy song and got the dark version of Ednaswap......I did like it though..just have the first impression of natalies version. Anyway! I'm just a baby Psycho so I didn't get to go on the trip. Thanx for sharing your experiences; particularly your mention of Spring. It's great the way this list has a strong sense of community. Besides the obvious love for all things Poe; it's the people here that keep me coming back. Also, since some of us live in the armpit of the free world, you guys relate some of Poe's essence which is cool since I might never have the oppretunity to ever meet her.
