If you're an aspiring musician, or you want to know where (but not when) Lilith Fair might go this summer... If you do want to audition, you really have to hurry! Cheers, Lawrence - -----Original Message----- From: Nettwerk Productions [SMTP:info@nettwerk.com] Sent: Wednesday, April 08, 1998 11:55 AM To: Recipient List Suppressed:; Subject: Local performers wanted for Village Stage at Lilith Fair... Hey everyone... As some of you may have heard, we have been selecting all kinds of artists for an appearance on the various stages for this summer's Lilith Fair Tour. However, while we've managed to more or less tackle the problems of the Main and Second stage acts, the Village Stage has been a little more of a challenge. The idea behind the Village Stage is to showcase local talent considered appropriate for Lilith Fair where the tour will be making a stopover. The list of cities in which we need Village Stage acts is listed below: * Phoenix * Albuquerque * Tulsa * Bonner Springs * Indianapolis * Columbus * Rochester * Hartford * Saratoga Springs * Virginia Beach * Raleigh * West Palm Beach * Orlando * Houston (2 dates) * Cleveland * Cincinnati * Pittsburgh * Hershey * Ottawa * Milwaukee (2 dates) It should be noted that this is NOT a complete list of dates for the tour, which we hope to have more details on in the next couple of weeks. Submissions will ONLY be accepted by sending a CD/Tape demo and press kit to our offices at: Nettwerk Productions 1650 West 2nd Ave. Vancouver, BC V6J 4R3 CANADA The deadline for this is the morning of *Wednesday, April 15th*. Submissions will NOT be accepted after this date. DO NOT send me any recommendations by email, as that will not help out the local performer you may consider appropriate for consideration. Have them send their info to the above address RIGHT AWAY, if you have some way of communicating with them. Further details about this are also available at the official Lilith Fair web site, so be sure to check it out if you can. thanks for reading Armand S. Poe et al , I decided to do some research. I went and got a friend of mine,no let's call him an 'acquaintance' cause he's a lawyer,to go to the local Psychic and get to the bottom of this whole situation. After paying the acquaintance 300 dollars for a half hour of his time and 20 to the psychic lady, we were able to channel Satan himself, because through independent channels I have determined him to be the patron saint of the Legal 'profession". It was a hair raising experience to say the least. I did tape record Satan so I could quote him verbatim. This is what he said: The Law puts me into everything. It is the ultimate backstage pass. Its the New Priesthood. Did you know there are more students in Law school then there are Lawyers walking the Earth? We're coming out -with guns blazing- decision after decision after decision- Until the stench of it reaches so high and far into Heaven, that it chokes the whole fucking lot of them. We're gonna write our own book" I apologise for the profanity, but it WAS Satan after all. I hope this helps to clear up the WEBR station's position for you. I have recieved a couple of responses requesting that I explain more clearly why it is that POE has been "kinda banned" at internet listenable radio station WBER. POE used to be heard exclusively here in Rochester on WBER, a 22 year old station that has never played anything but "alternative" they are a "commercial" free, not for profit, educational station. Listeners responded with requests for POE and voted THJ and AJ into the WBER top 100 for 1996. A localy based production company that records aspiring alternative artists caught POE at an early date when she played the local club "Water Street Boggie Bar" and the show was supposed to be aired on WBER and other stations that carry the "Universal Buzz Concert Series" http://www.universalbuzz.com/ According to WBER station manager "Joey G." after POE became involved with the local "commercial" alternative station WNVE the plan for airing the Universal Buzz show was given a red light. So WBER stopped playing POE, when I called and requested POE they said someone stole the disk, which I could understand, because we all know how GREAT POE is. So I bought the station a new copy of the "Hello" disk, and hand delivered it to "Joey G." I guess now I understand the stunned look on his face, and why he never thanked me. Call me whatever, I start calling in my requests and I'm still getting the run around bout the CD not being released to the DJ's yet, all along nobody at the station ever says that POE has been "kinda banned" and then for the third time I was told by my girlfriend that she thought WBER was boycotting POE because of her affiliation with WNVE. So about three weeks ago I called WBER asked for Joey G. and asked him straight up, "are you not playing POE on purpose?" He explained WBER's early and long support of POE and how they felt slighted in not being able to air the Universal Buzz Poe Show, and basicly said the next time POE will be heard on WBER is when that show is broadcast. This is not just a local tiff, WBER is heard worldwide via the net as is reflected by the e-mail that is frequently read on the air. I have never been a follower, I have never been in a "fan club" but POE captivated me with "Hello", and threw the net on me when she visited Rochester. So I push her music, and POE.ORG, almost daily via IRC, word of mouth, etc. So please e-mail wber@monroe.edu and tell them that NOT playing POE detracts from an othewise kewl station that can be heard at http://wber.monroe.edu Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with anybody but POE.ORG now back to the music please.
