Zelig" Subject: Concert Direct Unveils New Look! For Immediate Release: 04-02-1998 IRVINE, California --- Concert Direct - http://www.concertdirect.com , one of the premiere sources for concert and music information on the Internet today has unveiled the new look for its web site which gives the web site a more uniform, organized look as well as new contests to celebrate the new opening. Evan Zelig, founder and owner of Concert Direct states that, "the new look for the web site allows visitors to navigate the site more freely making reviews, photographs, and information much easier to find." In addition to making the Concert Direct web site much easier to navigate, the new look of the web site allows banner advertisements to rotate on every page of the web site giving advertisers, other web sites, and bands both signed and unsigned more exposure on the Internet's #1 source for concert and music information. To celebrate the opening of the "new" web site Concert Direct, in cooperation with local promoters 98 Posse and Goldenvoice, have announced four new contests on the web site to give visitors the chance to win pairs of concert tickets to upcoming shows. Among the contests recently announced, visitors to Concert Direct can win tickets to see Eek-A-Mouse on April 22 at the Barn in Riverside, Rev. Horton Heat with The Vandals on April 24 at The Palladium in Hollywood, Blink-182 on May 1 at the Palladium, and Ben Folds Five on May 9 at the Palladium. This is the beginning of a new era for the Concert Direct web site and the new look, new contests, and new information are just the beginning. For more information about the Concert Direct web site, please contact Evan Zelig at ezelig@concertdirect.com #### ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Apr 1998 10:50:12 -0500 From: agentorange2@juno.com (Rusty M Shelby) Subject: Fastball "Which Way To The Top?" while surfing around for some information on Fastball, I found this i tought would be of interest for everyone to read. from http://www.hollywoodrec.com/fastball ... And with its vintage soul/funk vibe, "Which Way to the Top?" takes on an entirely new dimension when guest vocalist Poe joins in. "She was working in the studio next door," recalls Scalzo, "and we asked her to sing on the song." "I sang a harmony for her," adds Zuniga, "she made a couple of changes and immediately nailed it. Then she freestyled over the bridge section, and the whole thing came out great." - -rusty ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ web page: (updated 03/28/98) http://www.cantnot.org/rusty _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Poe's song gets about 15-20 seconds of the spotlight, and the background music for the whole ad is a remix of her song. (I think). No one else on the soundtrack got onto the ad.. thought that was kind of cool. made me feel happy for her. ;) [|]=<>=[|][|]=<>=[|][|]=<>=[|][|]=<>=[|][|]=<>=[|][|]=<>=[|] [******[|][|] http://jragon.linex.com [|][|]******] [|]=<>=[|][|] [|][|]=<>=[|] [******[|][|] Visit my strange art gallery! I have been misinterpreted yet another time. Let's try again: My dearest Steve, My intentions in writing the article on Alanis' Uninvited Sexuality were neither to out Alanis nor to be serious. As should be noted by the tone and diction of the article, it was rather tongue-in-cheek. Whether this was understood by the readers (most specifically you) is a matter that remains to be seen. I have nothing to hide from you. I am an Alanis fan; I am not ashamed to admit it, either. Criticize my taste in music all you want. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. (But oh how I hate the excuse for entertainment from which I quote). I felt the need, however, to share with you my concern for the fact that you state that "anyone in dire need of a laugh" should check out my article. Even I am not that funny. Thank you for your concern about the emotional well-being of the *angry psychos*. I'm certain that we all appreciate it. Most sincerely yours, Anna Brandt ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 03 Apr 1998 21:29:41 -0800 From: Trouble Subject: NPR-kinda sorta This isn't truly Poe related, but I went into a toy/collectible store today and ended up buying a bear based on the name. It's a cute Boyd bear w/movable joints and its black. The company names all their products and this one is Poe the bear. So, although I usually only buy kitty stuff, I had to buy the bear w/such a precious name. Just a random thought for the day. erika ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V3 #95 **********************************
