She's on her self-run record label, Righteous Babe, and so she doesn't have the publicity that musicians on major labels get. I highly recommend getting a cd of hers.. I heard of her from multiple people, and finally got a chance to borrow a CD, and listened to it straight for 3 days, I walked around with my CD player all day.. :) but then I had to return it, so when I got home, Ibought it myself.. that was one title Out of Range... she has like 12 CDs I think.. I highly recommend Living in Clip (a double CD) it's got a lot of her stuff that was recorded live, and it's great.... She also came out with a new CD lately, Little Plastic Castles which is good.. and to boot, she's on tour right now.. I'm hitting her Asheville, NC show on April 22nd (anyone else going?) but the final word is, Ani DiFranco is a great individual who has her own style of music unmatched as far as I know.. :) Check her out on the internet if you want to her some of her stuff... I think she writes cool songs and I admire her business and her running her own label, but...I really find her voice soooo annoying. Sorry I had to admit it. Its like Celene Dion, I just don't understand the appeal... Sorry if i have offended any serius Ani fans, but hey, I have a right to my own opinion, all I'm saying is I don't think someone should buy a cd without knowing what the artist sounds like, I did cuz everyone told me it was the best cd they had ever heard, and well, I hated it...so I ended up having to sell it back to a store and getting like $.50 for a $13 cd. and no, they wouldn't take it back after i broke the little annoying seally thing...so i got screwed cuz i bought a cd without hearing it first. - -Becky (Psycho) Clark =O) Poetry page: http://www.pathetic.org/ (under Rebecca Clark) Web site: http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~acrn/djs/psycho.html On Mon, 30 Mar 1998, Ed Hunsinger wrote: > > At 02:09 PM 3/30/98 -0600, you wrote: > > > >Ok...I have always heard of Ani....but I don't know that I've ever > >actually heard her....What would be some songs of hers that I would have > >heard of? > > > >Thanx > > > >Mike > > > > More than likely, you haven't heard her on the radio. If I did purchase any of her c.d's, do they kinda have that same soft voice or is it more like Donita Sparks/Suzi Sparks (L7)? And if I were to purchase one of her c.d's, which do y'all recommend?
