They win some points for having Poe on, but they lose em in the way they handle the show. They took people's questions and used 'em themselves. For example, Welcome to Woop Woop, and I'm betting that when they started talking about the Plague with Poe that had been someone's question, because that's not really common knowledge (or is it? I wouldn't know) But oh well, it's better than nothing, and Poe is coming back onto the scene after spending a long time in the dark recesses of the studio. I've got the Poe section of MRL on tape, but it's for MP3 recording purposes... :) It's a pretty choppy copy with commercials stopped halfway into them and then started part of the way into another commercial, and the occasional little bit of static... so don't ask me to dub a copy, but do turn your eyes and ears to the FTP site for an MP3 of Rise and Shine (Already made, just needs to be uploaded) and possibly some comments, anyone want any section in particular? The major downfall there is htat you lose the ability to resume interuppted transfers, but if nobody ever bothers anyway then it might not matter. Just wondering.. I used to work for an AM station that tooke live calls to use for broadcast. Sometimes when a caller was nervous/shaky, they would just talk about the person's question, and no go directly to the caller. I know it sucks, I was on hold for 45 mins to talk to the Wallflowers one night, and they never went to me. Sucks, but such is life. Don't worry, it isn't you, just the way that the hosts learn how to handle callers, and how the screeners learn to take calls. As for the screener not knowing about Woop Woop, it isn't all that rare, most of the shows that I screened for, I didn't know shit about the topic. Just my thoughts....don't mean to piss anyone off. *-mark-* On Mon, 16 Mar 1998, Ed Hunsinger wrote: > > Same happened here... Don't worry, yeah, I noticed that I had to talk to several people and prove how "chill" I was before they assigned me my spot. (second!:) They asked me many times, different angles, and different people to make sure my heart wasn't going to burst out of my chest. The funny thing is, it was about to burst out of my chest, but I somehow spoke with enough of a level voice that I weaseled my way in. How many pschos enjoyed the Three mixes of THJ? I mean, personally, I love the psycho demolition mix, and will probably be playing it on my show tomorrow (11-1 at http://wgmu.gmu.edu) I think as many mixes as possible would be nice to have on cd single, even if it is five bucks, it would be well worth it. I mean, aside from rap albums (don't mean to generalize, Donna Lewis did it too), you don't find many artists putting more than one mix of a song on the actual album. That is the only reason that I will buy a single, to get as much song for my buck as possible. And seeing that I have a cd player in my car, having a single on cassette just sucks anyway.
