Many of you may not know this vibrant, young artist. Her CD is called UNDER THESE ROCKS AND STONES and is really quite wonderful. Anyway, about the show. I have seen Tori up close and personal multiple times... I have seen Sarah quite a few times from the front of the theatre... I have even had the opportunity to watch Beth Orton work from a foot away... But no one... NO ONE has sent chills up my spine the way this young pianist did. To say she was amazing is a vast injustice. I was utterly blown away. Her CD is good... really good, but live she entranced the audience. If she had more releases or toured the southeast more often, I would be in real trouble. Purrrrrrrrrrr... Before I get burned as a heretic for that last paragraph let me say, that this doesn't impact my belief in POE. POE's music is different. POE's music is about power and energy. When POE leaves a stage the audience is ready to explode with ecstasy. Chantal is about beauty and the passion of innocence. When Chantal leaves the stage, the audience sits there for a moment. Slowly they look at each other and maybe exchange a hug. Then quietly, they stand up and walk out. If you look closely, you may even catch a random tear rolling down a cheek. She is that powerful.
