As for our most devine lady POE, all I can say is "P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-URRRRRR" It is spectacular. The whole soundtrack is filled with light, "fun" summer music. Gallagher" Subject: Hey all... So, how is everybody? I just joined the list and so I figured I'd take just a sec to introduce myself. My name is Tom Gallagher. I'm a sophomore at Syracuse University, and I'm from Westwood, MA (about 20 minutes south of Boston). I'm 19 and I've been listening to Poe since I guess the first (and only) time I saw her. It was the show in July of '96 at the Avalon in Boston when she was opening with the Refreshments for Seven Mary Three. I remember that the Refreshments and Poe absolutely blew SM3 away. I had only really heard Angry Johnny once or twice by that point and actually ended up going to the show last minute because someone else bailed on a friend of mine and he had an extra ticket...of course I didn't really know anything about Poe or the Refreshments at the time. But, like I said, she was just absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! Just utterly awesome and mind-blowing. So I bought the disc and have been listening to it ever since. I haven't seen her again, although I've been trying and waiting since that show...although it took a while to sink in. For a while she kinda slipped to the back of my mind until recently a friend of mine bought Loungepalooza (sp?) and I heard Rose is a Rose, and just like before it aboslutely blew me away! So it jogged my memory and I hit the web and went searchin' till I came across poe.org. And now, here I am. And believe me when I say that I am far beyond estatic to hear that she has a new disc due out this summer!!!! Sorry this is so long, just had to get that out. So anyway, I was also curious if anyone out there would be willing be help out a semi-newbie with a boot or two. I have a couple Pearl Jam, a few Phish and a bunch of Guster (a local Boston band on the rise). So if anyone is interested in a trade or helpin' someone get started on a Poe collection, it would be much appreciated. Otherwise, I'll see you all around on the list... tom ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 1998 17:26:24 -0600 (CST) From: "Lawrence J. I haven't listened to many of the other songs on the album, but the title track is pretty good too. - ---------- Thanks to everyone that sent in a vote for your favorite song. Although I've seen some of you vote in previous elections, I'll let it slide. ;) The results should be posted by next week. I've rambled too much. Well, after listening to POE's new song on the "Woop Woop" soundtrack...I have to say it kicks... Like someone else said..it is very bouncy and upbeat.... It's got a good beat and you can dance to it! Heh Heh :-) Anyhow, I was sitting here thinking how diverse POE's music is... Off the top of my head, I can't think any other musicians out there who produce such diversity... You know? Poe does it all...Rock, Groove, Techno (Hello Mixes), Swing, and now bouncy pop... POE Rules... And so do the Angry-Psychos! Of course! Take Care People! Tony PS--Don't forget to send in your birthday message to POE for her borthday booklet...Please send all messages to "tonycu@poe.org".... :-) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 1998 21:25:38 -0500 (EST) From: "Thomas M.
