That's what I get for being a digest member of the list I guess. ;) > i gotta say that to call me a bitch for pushing your buttons a bit is > kind of an overreaction. I agree, and so did that person...that it was an over-reaction. You didn't have to rub it in her/his face again after the public apology. Secondly, the above is almost an admission that you were "pushing her/his' buttons". If you knew what you were doing, why did you do it? While we're at it, I think the following might be considered rude as well... > my point was that sometimes i just wonder about the true > dedication to poe some of the angry psychos have because it seems like > a lot of people have this same set list of female singers they like > and they have added poe on because she has somehow been caught up in > that list. I think that the vast majority of us are here because we like Poe's music (and those of us who've met her, possibly Poe, herself). That's what the list is about. I don't think that the list is about being "HardCore" (dude). I don't think it polite that one would call into question the strength of anybody's fannism (for lack of a better word). Fannship or Fannism seems a short step from Fanatic. And Polite seems a short step from Politic. Be Afraid...I am. ;) Steve: Yes, you were out of hand for a public forum...or perhaps, even a private one...but I thank you for your apology and I applaud that you had the strength to do so. Jason: Well said. Thank you. The right to express one's own viewpoints is a basic tenet of the American ideal of Freedom, and is represented strongly in our legal system. But misrepresentation of another's words can be deemed as malicious intent, and the malicious, false and injurious utterance about a person is considered slander. Neither are protected by First Amendment. No, I'm not trying to put the Fear of Law into you. ;) I'm just trying to establish what would be considered fair and proper conduct for a public forum. Or perhaps I'm wrong...and everybody likes to hear and deal with this stuff???
