COOL! ok..... it opens with the very haunting vocals of tori amos, and "finn" ,which leads right into tori's new tune, "siren"....it kicks the ass of everything on soundtrack, really it does....but that's my opinion..and tori's music & i have about a six year past, so i'm kinda partial.......it takes "siren" a while to grow on you, but once it does, it takes over..umm...i'd say about 85% of the album is worth hearing....chris connel's song is very pretty, and, out of all the songs, it's the one that was used the best in the film......everyone adores that mono song, but it makes me choke on sugar...umm......pulp, fisher, reef, scott weiland.......all their songs kick major ass...poe's song is really damn funky....& it's very catchy..i was making breakfast this morning, shrieking "today is the day...we break FREEEE!!!!"...scared my poor cat half to death.... do yourself a favor. buy the soundtrack, &, while you're out, pick up the score, too...the full version of "finn" & "paradiso perduto" are really gorgeous... - -russ tha ventrue "reach high doesn't mean she's holy it just means she's got a cellular handy."-tori amos, "siren" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Feb 1998 10:55:30 -0500 (EST) From: Rebecca Lynn Clark Subject: Re: great exp. sndtrk-my opinion...not very poe related well, i got the Great Expectations soundtrack, and i must say, i am sorta disapponited by the soundtrack as a whole... I LOVE the new POe track, i think it is the best song on there. The Mono tracxk and Duncan Sheik are both awesome... I was surprised by the Chris Cornell track, i actually liked it. However, major disappointment on the Tori Amos track...i have been a big fan of hers for a long time now, and I don't care what you all think of me, I HATE THAT SONG! It is annoying and I hate it...I still love her and her music, but that song needs to be given a quick burial... please don't flame me, if your opinion differs from mine, then who cares...your own personal opinion is all that matters, right? anyway, that's my take on the soundtrack... - -becky=) "Dude, Snacky Cakes? I have just one question about the cute little chain mail letter, and I invite anyone to help me with it. The question is this.... How do we know if she didn't pass off the rose just to make sure HE wasn't Ugly ? I mean, why does this have to be some story about love and dedication to an Ideal, instead of a tale of a evil woman ( no prejudice, just live with it ) who didn't want to be trapped in a relationship with a Ugly guy ? ? Did anyone else find this disturbing? ? Perhaps if he had been a dog, she woulda split from the resteraunt, and with a head start due to her deception... Perhaps she would instead tell the poor vet she was married when he showed up, accomponied with another cute sob story about her abuseive marrage (it was the middle of the century... the law didn't interfere with a couples domestic situation unless it was extreeme ). Just so he would "understand" and let her go back to her marrage... Who knows what kind of trouble she could have been cooking up... and we are supposed to treat this as a charm ? ? some potion for love ? ? I think not. Rick PS: once again, shame on you who take this at face value, never doubt the deceptive power of a woman. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Feb 1998 13:59:30 -0500 (EST) From: "Colin Kevin Van Ostern O'Loughlin" Subject: Re: NPR, but please read I thought one of these was called the "Good Times" Virus ;) ,.;:'"^"':;.,.;:'"^"':;.,.;:'"^"':;.,.;:'"^"':;,.,;:'"^"':;., * Colin Van Ostern | We're not gonna pay, * * George Washington U.| We're not gonna pay, * * Washington, DC | We're not gonna pay!!! * * | -Rent * ,.;:'"^"':;.,.;:'"^"':;,.,;:'"^"':;.,.;:'"^"':;.,.;:'"^"':;., On Sat, 7 Feb 1998, lush wrote: > Nothing personal Eric, but what a load of crap. > > > > Eric Carter wrote: > > > > I kind of absently mindedly read this message and got lucky , > > but you should be careful when reading your messages. There is always the most realistic, still romantic, yet middle ground scenario where she believed that knowledge of each others' physical appearances would 'skew' the developing mental relationship . . . then when the meeting day came she made a subtle decision on what general pretense their meeting was to take slightly based on his attractiveness to her and she acted accordingly. . in this case because she found him attractive physically as well as mentally, which left only a final 'test' for her. . the heart. I don't think it's good for us to assume intentions on EITHER side. . to do so makes the percieved to be less than. .or MORE than human. . and either one takes away from their humanity - -Bill ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Feb 1998 15:07:31 -0800 (PST) From: Hell Kat Subject: Another POEincidence Hey Psychos I have just come up with another POEincidence.
