A quick overview: * * * * The Psycho Ward will be a section on www.Angry-Psychos.Com... The Psycho Ward will be organized alphabetically by name/handle... The Psycho Ward will be visible by the entire world via the Site... The form that will be used to input all of the information for your individual Page will have a password on it. The login name and the password will be given out to the list only... This will be done to keep The Psycho Ward as PURE as possible - so let's respect that and not pass the info to non-AP's... When the form completes, it will give you a name (ex: Kappa3) - This is the name that MUST be attached to your photo and send the photo to . The name is very important because it will be necessary to get your picture into your Page... DO NOT contact these two with your photos, until you have your Page Code - sending photos is futile. In addition, I will instruct these two not to accept any photos and names (WITH OUT the PAGE CODE). I am committed to making this as easy as possible on the people offering their time. Granted, this will be a work in progress forever and some hurdles will need to be crossed. I know that we are ready for the challenge. If you don't have a scanner or a digitized picture, you can send it via snailmail, to the afore mentioned AP's, with the attached CODE to place your picture. The AP's that will do some scanning for you, save the picture and get it up to be placed into your Page on The Psycho Ward... * * * This is a semi complete post - Please keep all entries to The Psycho Ward in a mental state, at this point. If you have a scanner or want to start to organize your photo or photos of other AP's, please do so. It will expedite the impementation of The Psycho Ward. I don't think their should be any restrictions on the photo (except for the size below). I do request ath you don't put up a group photo and say "I'm third from the left..." This is your individual Page on The Psycho Ward, so let's make it look like an individual's Page. Consistency is easy on the conscious. Width = 130 pixels Height = 145 pixels It will be on a Deep-Red Background - If you want to color coordinate -heh * * * Take Care and The Psycho Ward is predict to be fully organized in two weeks. (now I'm going to follow that up with some substance) You came out of nowhere in this group and announced your plans for MP3ing Poe's stuff, and I was against it at first. However, I let it go (partly because people were giving me grief for posting too much) and partly because I never thought you'd have the time and committment to actually make a good MP3 site. Now, I haven't even been there yet, but I know it will be there if I ever need it, which is a great thought. Also, on the subject, We've got the Poe.org phenomenon, which is just a magnicificient thing. I mean, you can accredit(sp) Jarrod with anything Poe related that we've experienced except for the notes Poe sings and the albums she puts out. But everything else, the bond we all have, the pyscho ward (great name!) the angry pyschos, the tee shirts, the backstage passes, the chat room, the stuff that makes an AP an AP... that's all due to Jarrod's work. So to turn that to Ed, the MP3 site is another building in the AP structure. These things will be here for a while... when poe is releasing her 3rd album, and people are reviewing her in some Japanese newspaper, they are going to refer to poe.org, angry-pyschos.com, and Ed's MP3 site as good resources to find out more about the illustrious Poe. So.......... I agree that higher quality would just be divine. But I also realize that the closest you could come to this luxury (referring to our awesome AP leaders, this net connection, and these MP3s, whatever qaulity) five years ago would be.... hearing it on the radio. meeting another fan at a show, but never seeing them again. so a big hearty helping of THANK YOU to everyone that's trying make stuff happen. We appreciate it more than you realize. And then some. And that's only the half of it. It's nice to see someone with a good view of the work people do on the internet... allow me to through in my philosophy real quick here.. :) The internet is all about freedom.. freedom of expression, as well as things for free... think about it.. all the information you could want is available through the internet...all you have to do is look for it.. the internet is the embodiment of my dream, to have all the knowledge available.... (no not all the knowledge ever, which is impossible cause we discover new thigns every day) it would be ideal if that information was instantly accessed within your head, rather than through an ISP, but you do with what you have in the present... we are approaching the equivalent of having the information in your head.. have you ever been on a direct internet connection? faster than hell... click click, and boom.. there's what you're looking for.... in the future, information will be more and more available to the everyday person with quicker access.... think about it.. we used to use 2400 modems and that was our only choice, and we thought that was incredible... connecting to computers miles and miles away with a phone? incredible... now we have technology that can connect you to the internet at 8 MB a second! and only in the 18 years of my life I've seen this.. imagine the next two decades (baring the crash of the year 2000 problem.. :P ) but the only way we can keep it going like it is, is to have the right mindset.. the internet is about information and availability... it joins the world, and occasionally space, together.... each person contributes to the internet, good and bad, whether it's taking up bandwith, or setting up something like poe.org (Jarrod, I can't thank you enough :) but keep that in mind when you float around the world that we have created... we are gods in this setting.. we can uncreate and create with a few movements of our fingers... we are gods and artists, but our medium is not the shaping of present materials, but the formation of new and different things.... so what's my point? do what you can to give back.... whether it is small or large, it adds to the spirit of creation and distribution.... and try not to tear anything down, if you don't plan to rebuild it bigger and better....
