[Malyson Subject: NPR: Mike Vs. Joel Again mankind is plagued by the eternal question: Who was better, Joel or Mike? If you don't watch MST3K, then you can just disregard this letter as the annoyingly worthless fanboy drivle that it is. However, those who have let the bots into their hearts can come with me on this convienant tangent. I'm sorry, it's 1:30 am--I'm tired, I'm bored, and I am a true Mystie. Pathetic, I know. Those of you who've watched the show for a while know the feeling of betrayel when we all discovered that Joel was leaving. Then Mike came into the picture. Comparisons were inevitable. Personally, I'm a little old school. I like Joel. His dry wit and humor were more subtle. Joel's commentary could be parrelled to Gary Larson's "Far Side". Joel was very real and down-to-earth (please do not make any pun inferences here, I hate puns). Mike is very flashy and superficial to me. After Mike came aboard and Joel left, the show kinda turned mainstream. The jokes weren't as obscure and everything seemed like they were trying too hard. I haven't really seen the show since it went to Sci-Fi, but I know the Mads are gone and that pisses me off. Anywho, enough of my ranting. Billy. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Jan 1998 22:52:41 PST From: "Amy Mitchell" Subject: [none] Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if Poe is going to keep the same band members for her next tour? I saw that Toby and Jones had their own webpages. Does anyone know if Cameron has a webpage? Or does he ever come into the poe.org chatroom? Thanks in advance! I'm sorry to bother everyone with this, but I need help with my web page. I'm trying to create pull down menus in frames that when you select an option and then click on GO, the destination will open in another frame. The HTML editor that I'm using has a scripting wizard where I can create the pull-down menus (in javascript), but I can't figure out how to make it open in the other frame. Either help me with this, or suggest a web page, or FREEWARE that can help me. I emphise FREEWARE because I can't afford to buy one of these expensive professional editors. After I sent this first message I figured out the other frame problem w/ a button, but I haven't figured out how use a non-button, pull-down, other frame, menu. Like it's used on Poe.org. I'd love to have someone explain that to me. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jan 1998 20:53:30 EST From: Flickergrl Subject: A-P party in albany!!!!! hey hey psychos... it has been almost 6 months since the last major psycho get-together, and over 7 months since my last psycho get-together, so.... tonite i was talking to ed (aspened) and ashley (pyroshwee) and we all were trying to go to an ani difranco concert when i go up to visit them for spring break.... [michele writes:] >I'm not rusty, he's the after-hours guy, I just work here during the >day... >The cd is out of print. A used cd store is probably the best chance to >find it, though the chance isn't so great... well, michele is right.. the cd is out of print. it has been an "inactive sku" at blockbuster music for sometime now... i went around and bought all of the copies i could find in atlanta and then sold them on the list to the people that didn't already have it. (erik.. i still have yours!)... the only place you may easily find a copy of this song is on the AP tape tree #1... it was a hidden track on side A for a while... it should be listed on the j-card now though... but, i believe the original question was "is this available on cd?".. also, i believe some AP's were talking about putting the tape trees on cd with their CD-R recorders on their computer's CD-ROM drive.. but, that is something we try NOT to talk about... but, like michele said, check used cd stores... whenever i find odd Poe cd's at used cd stores i always buy them and then offer them to the list, as there is almost always someone willing to buy them. good luck! - -rusty ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ web page: (updated 01/05/98) http://www.cantnot.org/rusty _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
