I was prompted by an argument that followed a survey that listed music that "people who bought poe's cd" listen to. Anyway, although people said i was crazy, I did it and here are the results...well half of them... *25 responded to the survey. *525 bands were listed (i didn't count soundtracks, unless they were by one artist) *you will see 205 listed here and in Part#2. Bands not listed only got one vote. *one person admitted to owning Hanson. Now, Part #1 is smaller, Part #2 will list bands with 3 or two votes, the list is long, but I feel that it is not only interesting, but I'd like to think my hard work may pay off Remember that this is only a survey, and does not express my views, in fact I hate many of the artists with high votes (aka Bush, Fiona Apple, etc.) *22 VOTES--Poe (3 people did not list her cd as one they owned! I don't have their names so don't ask!) *15 VOTES--Fiona Apple *13 VOTES--No Doubt, Jewel, Garbage *12 VOTES--Nirvana, Alanis Morisette *11 VOTES--Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins *10 VOTES--Bush, Stone Temple Pilots *9 VOTES--Alice In Chains, The Cranberries, Veruca Salt, Live *8 VOTES--Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Green Day *7 VOTES--Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Aerosmith, Soundgarden *6 VOTES--Tool, The Doors, Dave Matthews Band, Cake, Madonna, Led Zeppelin, Filter, Everclear, Red Hot Chili Peppers *5 VOTES--Sheryl Crow, Gin Blossoms, Jimi Hendrix, Jane's Addiction, The Offspring, Presidents of The USA, Primus, The Cardigans, Counting Crows, Crash Test Dummies, Eric Clapton, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Better Than Ezra, The Beatles, Bjork, Sneaker Pimps, Republica, REM, Sublime, Weird AL, White Zombie, Weezer. *4 VOTES--U2, Neil Young, The Who, Rage Against The Machine, Rolling Stones, Adam Sandler, Silverchair, Collective Soul, Beck, Ani Difranco, Ozzy Osborne, Tom Petty, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Mazzy Star, Foo fighters, Goo Goo Dolls, Hole, Grateful Dead, Luscious Jackson, Janis Joplin. My name is Jeff. I'm from Northern Virginia, but I was born around Philadelphia. I am 18 years old, a senior in high school. The first time I remember hearing Poe and knowing it was her was on the way home from a Tori Amos concert, and hearing "Angry Johnny" on a WHFS nightly countdown. It was pretty close to #1 on the countdown, too. Other musicians I listen to are Liz Phair, Soul Coughing, Jane Jensen, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Railroad Jerk, Sugar Ray, Metallica, Fig Dish, Local H, and 311.
