My name is Tara, I live in New Jersey and I'm 17. I started listening to Poe when I borrowed my friend's Cd sometime last year and I liked it, so I bought it myself. I also listen to Garbage, No Doubt, Save Ferris, Radiohead, blur, Weezer, Miss Angie, Squad Five-o, Elastica, Lush, Veruca Salt, Fleetwod Mac, Bis, Face to Face, as well as others. A lot of poeple think that when you listen to a lot of different kinds of music as I do, that you're a poser, but I find this is not the case. I think people should be able to listen to what they want beause that's what they like. Thanks for listening, Tara ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Dec 1997 12:58:36 EST From: STAR982 Subject: Re: i agree!! i agree! you can listen to a lot of different types of music! A brief emergence from the safety of the lurking shadows to introduce myself.... My name is Kenn McCracken. I am 26 years old, currently in Birmingham, AL, but hoping to move within 1998. I first heard Poe in late November 1995 (or was it early December?), while working at a now-defunct music store called Slip Disc; we received a promo of both HELLO and the THJ single, and i've been hooked ever since. I've been playing guitar and keyboards for a local group called 'Knowledge and Denial' (a studio-only band) as well as doing my own stuff. I listen to a little of everything outside of rap and country - heavy on the guitar oriented (Vai, Dream Theater) and the soundtracks (Crow, Braveheart, The Rock, Blade Runner). I really want to know what happened to the Poe theme (for Windows 95) I sent to Jarrod some months back... Is it still alive? Also, can anyone provide me with a place to get a complete performance of How Long? It is my opinion (and having only been an ap for a few months, i don't know if i can take the privilege of having an opinion, but that's never stopped me before) that Evil Poe is on the rise again!! For one thing, the other day my friend and I (she had finally gotten some sense knocked into her and bought Poe and Garbage; I'd bought Blink 182, which kicks some ass) found ourselves buying some pretty scary CD's again... I discovered I now own BOTH Spice Girls CD's, and while I find the new one, Spiceworld, to be totally laughably stupid, I refuse to part with it!! AAAUGH!! I even admitted that I thought "Viva Forever" would be decent if it weren't for the corny Spanish!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! She wound up with the Backstreet Boys, which she listens to religiously (Note: Every single credit says "First of all, I'd like to thank God for giving me all this talent...")... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I'm sitting here humming "Lady Is A Vamp" as I type this... 'cos the lady is a vamp, she's a vixen not a tramp, she's a dadadadadadada... come on fellows raise your bets 'cos you ain't seen nothin' yet she's the top of the top she's the best... hell, that doesn't even RHYME... Also, where IS that Poe song for the Christmas season? I think EVIL POE TOOK IT!! AAAUGH!! I think we're all in some serious danger. Watch your backs, luvs!! IT doesn't mean I'm more devoted to any group, but I go through my different phases everynow and then.... I am even starting to get a taste for Hanson... AWWWWW TAYLOR!! <-unthinkable a month ago... must be that evil guitar part... I've been playing "MMMBop" so much that I'm starting to like it... Anyway, other than country (DIE LEANN RIMES!! DIE FAKE ANNOYING PERKY BITCH!! {hoo boy am i gonna get yelled at for that}), I listen to EVERYTHING from classical to punkrock. There's this guy in some of my classes who is a total rap freak, and he can't believe that I know half the lyrics to It's All About The Benjamins... (ya wanna be ballers? shot-callers? brawlers?...ya wanna bumble with the queen bee?? lol...) and then I can go have a conversation with someone else about Usher or Allure, there in my JNCOs and Airwalks (though my new Kikwear jeans and Daria/Shirley Manson-style boots w/ the three-inch-heel are starting to take over...)... I'm strange. But I don't listen to just one thing. I even own a TLC CD! And the Now And Then Soundtrack... I haven't listened to it in a long time, except "Now And Then" by Susanna Hoffs, one of my favorite songs, which I listen to loads 'cos it reminds me of my summer camp friendz... Anyways, gotta go play Slap A Spice Girl now (my record is 180.
