I tried to send this email I wrote to this list as well as to the otherl ists I am on, but on my first attempt, I messed up the email address. *sorry* have a good day! take care stephanie - ---------- Forwarded message ---------- hello to everyone: Jewel fans, Tara fans, ans Poe fans! please excuse, in advance, any weird typos...well, above the norm, i guess ;)...i have put my left hand in a wrist brace, because i am showing all the signs of carpal tunnels syndrome, and i guess slipping a brace over my wrist and hand is the only affordable thing i can do for now. typing is, thus, hard, as is concentrating when i am trying to adjust to this brace... but, like the subject says, this post is about new years eve. a very very well known and thriving folk singer from the new england area, Ellis Paul, is performing in the boston area on new years eve. for those of you jewel fans, Patty Griffin sang background vocals on his album "Carnival of Voices." For you tara fans ans Poe fans, have you heard of him? This New Years Eve concert is his only performance for a long while in the Boston area. He will be playing at Club Passim in Harvard Square...two sets! I do not know the *exact* time of each set, but I will find that out as it gets a *bit* closer to his show. If aby of you Boston area Poe fans, Jewel fans, or Tara MacLean fans are interested in hanging out, Phil Poje (EDA for you ITWers ans APs) and I will be there with bells on. =) Actually, Phil and I have a whole wonderful new years eve planned. we are going to spend the day making bagged lunches and giving them to homeless people we meet until we run out of food. This is the Chruistmas gift we are giving each other. If anyone is interested in either joining us (aka make a bunch of baged lunches at home then meet up with us as we journey around harvard square, davis square, the boston commons), please get in touch with me. =) the more the merrier, always! and please remember the soup kitchens, temporary safe havens, women's shelters, and inpatient sections over the holidays. it seems like we always make so much time to send email to each other, watch TV, work on beautifying our homepages, and do all these other things that we so often seem to take for granted. it's like...if we make the time to do all this, can't we just reserve a few hours to smile on each other? there will still be time to watch TV or catch a movie or talk on the phone or check email. I dunno, just a thought. well i should go. my wrist hurts, even while being wrapped up in this brace... i love you all! stephanie Stephanie Maria Kartalopoulos We should be very greatful to have a kartalst@hugse1.harvard.edu limited body...like mine or like The Greek Poet Chyck yours. This may be my last post. As of now I'm unsubbing from the list, there's way too much going on with school, life, ETC. I have a billion unread messages, and the only other option I see is going back to digest, in which I never read the messages and they came to me with bits and pieces of garbled characters in them so when I read them it was REALLY difficult. I might come back on the list after winter break, maybe after poe's next CD comes out, I'm not sure. If anyone wants to contact me I do still check my e-mail at least once a week, my addy is: jbeadle@execpc.com Hopefully I'll be back on the AP's sometime soon! - -Landon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 1997 21:13:54 -0500 From: "robert bryant" Subject: help me beat my friend!! i promise to link to poe if enough of you guys visit my crappy little site so i can "outhit" my classmates!...guess I'll fly away... http://members.wbs.net/homepages/t/h/e/therealenerd.html ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 1997 22:09:46 -0500 From: Bernard Alpern <73214.1142@compuserve.com> Subject: POE ON CompuServe If you go into the Rock Forum, into the either ROCK or ALTERNATIVE sectio= n of the Library, there is a picture of our godess, Poe. just letting you know.... :) silver pepper girl = ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 1997 22:05:24 EST From: PuppyDawg3 Subject: Atlantic hey Poe being dropped from her record has something to do with Atlantic too because Modern and Atlantic are like linked together or something and a LOT!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, they're cleaning out all the truly cool bands/artists, like Poe. Another one of my fave small bands, Madder Rose, was also dropped by Atlantic a month or two ago. Probably just a matter of time before they also drop other commercially small, but artistically solid bands like Ugly Beauty or artists like Lili Haydn. Does anyone at Atlantic know how to promote great small bands? Apparently not. William ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Dec 1997 00:35:07 EST From: Dark Faery Subject: POE's first day of school... Well, today was the first day that I wore my POE tshirt (it's the black one with the fire/logo thing) to school and I must say people were quite impressed! All day long people were inquiring about this mysterious face surrounded by fire. Most didn't know who POE was but thought that she looked cool. I had a couple of fans come up to me and ask where I got it 'cause they had never seen POE shirts before. (I got it at CDnow, BTW--great service!). Anyway, more about the shirt... it's really good quality and is just plain awesome. On the front it's a circle with her name and then a star in the O and her face (just like the cover of the CD except for the fire). They have her eyes this vibrant green that is just totally amazing. On the back is a matchbook with one match and in black there are two hearts and her name (it's her little signature, folks). I was worried that after I washed it the paint would crack but it's still good as new after one washing, and I'm hoping it will stay that way! I don't know how many others have ordered it, but I am extremely pleased with it. Can anyone tell me about the Psycho shirt and the other maroon one? Thanks! :) AP love to all! ~Dark Faery~ ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V2 #388 ***********************************
