I recently joined the Poe list hoping to hear about concerts, interviews, etc. I'm 25 and live in northern Virginia. I first heard Poe on the radio in the summer of 96 and bought Hello soon after. I saw her concert this spring at the 9:30 Club in DC -- very amazing! I have a fairly wide range of musical interests, but my favorites are Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Suzanne Vega, and Soul Coughing. I also highly recommend Vertical Horizon if you get the chance to hear/see them. I went to college with the guitarists -- very good musicians and songwriters. I am currently trying to put together a band -- I sing and play piano (some). A little story to that or a long one, depending on how you look at it = :) I was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS for tech = school. As I was there I was looking at the cd selections at the mini mall on base. I saw the cover to one titled POE, I was intrigued by the cover. I have never seen it before, nor heard any of the songs. But it just looked like something that I would be interested in. Some time later, a few friends and I happened to be in New Orleans - not hard to guess why :) - and here was a Tower Records store. The POE cd was on a listening station there, so I put on the headphones to check it out. I practically listened to the whole cd while I was there. I bought it the same day I got back to the base. 5.
