Trust me--it's fabulous and filling! I've made it often. Psycholove, Padma POTATO LEEK SOUP 5 large russet potatoes, peeled and diced 4 medium to large leeks 4 cups salted (1 teaspoon) water (or whatever it takes to cover the potatoes & leeks) 1-1/2 cups table cream 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds 2 tablespoons dill weed salt to taste pepper to taste 3 tablespoons sour cream 2 tablespoons butter Garnish: chopped chives, parsely, and/or more dill weed Peel the potatoes, and dice them reasonably small. Wash the leeks and chop them well, discarding the tough green ends. Cook these vegetables in the salted water for about 1/2 hour, or until they are tender. Add the cream, caraway seeds, dill weed, and salt and pepper to taste. Let the soup simmer another 15-20 minutes, or until it begins to take on a rather thick consistency and the potatoes begin to fall apart a little. Now, stir in the sour cream and butter; let it all heat through, and serve--garnished with the chives, parsley, and/or more dill weed. [Note: after adding the cream, it is helpful to stir the soup often, until ready to serve.] Enjoy! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Nov 1997 17:18:55 -0500 From: "LAFF.ORG" Subject: LAFF.org Weekly Update For 11.3.97 AnGrY-PsYcHoS one and all...Please read this message below when you have a chance. Information in this message will be very important coming up in the next couple months. Thanks, Robby Black - ------------------ Welcome All. This will become a weekly update very soon. I just wanted to give you some background information for some of the new Angry-Psychos and ask for some help. Background: LAFF Stands for Levar and Friends Fund of Rochester. It promotes recreational activities for kids infected (who have HIV/AIDS) or affected (kids who are affected..family/friends have AIDS) Levar a 12 year old kid who has HIV met POE on DEC 1, 1996. To make a long story short Levar went to meet POE after her concert here in Rochester, NY. He went in the tour bus and to their surprised (Roberta his mother & Levar) there was not a beer can or a bong to be found. Yet Diet Coke cans and chips out for their pleasure. As most of you know POE is a sweetheart; and when you get a little 12 year old back there it would just be a grand old time. Well is was about 2:am in the morning a half hour later after they first met. A 12 year old should not be up that late so they said it was time to go. BUT before they left Levar told POE something he hasn't told anyone but his family. He told POE that he has HIV/Cancer. As you can probably think POE was more then touched that night. She gave Levar a Ring that he has never taken off his finger. She also told E-man (A DJ from the radio station) that she was going to help Levar. Well a couple months later E-man called Roberta and said I have a surprised for you. He comes over with POE's Gold Album for Levar and Says POE wants to do a concert for you. So within a couple months they have to set up LAFF, plan a concert and have fun doing it. to keep this some what short: The concert was a great success and the song that POE wrote for Levar "Rise and Shine" was recorded the next day, May 18, 1997. It has yet been released, and should be somewhat soon. People who have heard this song know that the single will be totally Awesome. And Trust me it will. So that is LAFF in a nut shell. - ----------------------------------------------- WHERE WE COME INTO PLAY Angry-Psychos made/making History working with LAFF. We were there helping at the concert May 17. We have been recognized on the radio, Magazines and news papers. We are giving our knowledge and time to LAFF. We are also working with the Radio Station (The Nerve). Not many fan Clubs work with radio stations. So that is the Angry-Psychos Part of LAFF - ------------------------------------ WHAT I NEED FROM YOU GUYS I am working very closely with LAFF; I have become attached to this for many reasons. http://www.laff.org Will be opening December 1, 1997. World Aids Day. LAFF is going to be going Nation Wide and we need your help. Even it if just putting one of there Aids Ribbon on your back pack. I will be asking for more specific help as the time comes, but if you are interested in helping (which you should be AIDS will affect everyone of you some time in your life) talk to your school/work and see if they are doing anything for world Aids Day. If they are not suggest they should do something; clothing drive, food drive, donations or just some type of Aids Awareness. Please HELP support this foundation that Angry-Psychos & POE support. If you are seriously interested in helping out please reply to me and I will get back to you. Thanks so much for your time in reading this. This is something that is going to be huge. It will give Angry-Psychos a whole new name. Please email me directly any answers. This is for people in the United States. First let me say that I am a law student (which why I'm doing this) and in 1 class we were talking about this. How many people believe that if they are stopped by the police while in theie cars they have the right to refuse to allow the police to search their vehicle if asked? Thank you for your help. Jonathan TenBrink cabal@webspan.net ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Nov 1997 16:06:46 PST From: "Jessica ." Subject: Very Poe List Related I think that this is screwed. I sent the same story about the two boys to the list awhile ago, yet I got an email back saying that it wouldn't be placed on the list. I am not trying to get credit for this story, because the credit lays in the lesson it teaches, but I think it is un-just that the same story wasn't placed on the list when I sent it. What is the difference? Why was the story aloud on the list now?
