But... I was reading a Fiona Apple article in the October issue of Alternative Press (AP), and guess who was smack dab in the middle of the article? Our very own Brette. Here's that part of the article... "Outside Fiona's dressing room, it's noisy and frenetic with the din of 18,000 people wandering the grounds of Great Woods. Waiting by the backstage gate, shivering with delight despite the thick, muggy air of Mansfield, Massachusetts, 15-year-old Brette Meyers, who made Fiona the mug while at camp, stands with her friends, hoping for a glimpse of her favorite singer. With nervous, darting eyes and a quick, short-circuited smile, Brette acts almost disinterested in a way that implies extreme, absolute teenage fixation. "She's really different," Brette says of Fiona. "She's really good. And we're only four years apart. I just haven't had the experiences she's had." Cool! I am from Columbus, Ohio. Cleveland originally. I= am 23 years old. The first time I heard of Poe was when I bought a Lenny Kravits ticket and it said she was opening. At the time I didn't know Poe= was a she and had never heard the name before. My devotion to Lenny has lead me to believe that his opening acts are typically pretty good. As so= on as I got the ticket I had to go get the Poe cd. I always like to be familiar with an artist before a show. So the first time I saw Poe was on= a bone chilling night in February of '96. That night she was wearing a fluf= fy coat that she accidentally burned in the tour bus. I was right at the sta= ge for the show and got to touch her hand.
