Hello everyone, my name is Dustin and I just recently subscribed to the AP list. I was wondering what exactly is discussed on this list (trading, concert dates, personal experiences, etc. ?). I first saw Poe in concert in Summer of 96 when she was opening for Seven Mary Three. She had gotten a little bit of radio play from the Omaha radio stations, but not much. What had caught my attention was the "Just another one of those Jedi mind tricks..." and I thought to myself I should check this Cd out. I listened to it and I was hooked - -- a diverse musical taste and a beautiful voice to match. When she got up on stage, very few people were getting into the gig. Well, over a hundred people there -- only about ten were REALLY into her performance. So my friend and I got up to the front of the stage right when she began -- no one pushing us against the walls.... We kind of connected with her when she started "Choking the Cherry," my friend and I started doing a ska-type dance and eventually so did Poe. She did the body surfing thing (the only time the entire audience got into her act) as she seems to like. But what really blew my mind is how small she was! Man, I almost felt sorry for her -- wanted to give her something to eat. I don't know, maybe its a metabolism thing.... Anyway, the experience was awesome and I hope to see her again soon. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
