Well straight edge has been around since the early 80's and it was never talked about. Only now it has been on MTV all over the internet and other places. Most bands who say they are straight edge only have one or two memebers who are and they are doing it because there is some money there, plus alot of kids will go see them. How come how everybody is saying they are straight edge? that is a trend. And most of the people saying it are under 21 so they should be straight edge. Yes, but that's my point. Moshing isn't the problem. There are people that do try to make the moshing crowd hurt like hell, and these are the people who give it a bad rap. I'm still saying, don't sit there complaining about moshers. You should be able to avoid them and enjoy the concert if you're not into moshing, but if you can't and you have to lay blame on moshers, you should acknowledge it is not their fault for the design of the place. Moshers deal with the people who are trying to cause pain. Most people can't say they've never been in a mosh pit, moshing's been around forever. The way most people like mosh pit's are where you're all packed together trying to get as close to the front to see the band, while a lot of people think of it as a place to slam into each other. I always think it's fun in non-violent mosh pits where they're either swaying so you can't help but rely on those around you to keep you from falling, or the mosh pits where everyone is jumping around but being concious as to who's around them so they don't hurt people. Oh well, my thoughts... And of course, if you're still flaming me for saying moshing isn't the problem then take this as me saying I love to kill innocent people... And of course, if you're still flaming me for >saying moshing isn't the problem then take this as me saying I love to >kill innocent people... LATERZ, Landon, one reason you really piss people off is that you put words into their mouths. If you don't understand, read what you said and think about it. Anyways, moshing can be lots of fun...on a rare occasion. Some people happen to like pain, and some people are too doped up to feel anything. Although I had a very bad experience with moshers at a Bloodhound Gang concert where I had a shoulder wound reopened by a crowd surfer's foot. That was not cool. And to top it off a few morons decided it would be a good idea to mosh in the very front where I was, standing next to a steel barricade. Of course they also kicked up dust and dirt and all that non-cool stuff. Moshers can be okay if they get the hell outta the way of us peace-loving people. - -Bobby - --- Bobby Kolling The Mac Savvy www.macsavvy.com - --- ERROR: SIGNATURE FILE NOT FOUND. SHOULD I FAKE IT? Yes, I've been back for two weeks from my amazing Poe odyssey! Thanks go out to all of the Angry-Psychos who hosted me and thought of me and talked to me. This message is going to both the Angry-Psychos and my own update list, so there's many of you receiving this. I'd like to welcome the new subscribers to my Poe Page Update list. I'm sorry I haven't been in touch in a while, but I'm sure you all understand: I've been so busy after I got back from my trip that I have barely been online at all. THE POE TRIP VIDEO (IMPORTANT!!!!): Yes, the Poe Trip Video is in the works as we speak. On my trip, I shot over six hours of footage of all of you that I met and other phenomena. Currently, I am logging footage, a slow and thankless job, but an essential thing in the editing process. Once I am done with this, which should be in the next few days, I will begin to do a rough edit, followed by a technologically-advanced fine edit on an Avid (hopefully). Then I will accept money. The Poe Trip Video currently is selling to angry-psychos and Poe list members for $15. The cost is to cover: * video supplies * editing time, facilities, materials * duplication costs (over $5 a tape) * my costs incurred on the trip * etc. I am going to have to ask that those ordering a tape also include a postage fee (I'm not sure what it will be yet). I'm just incurring so many expenses that I don't think I can pocket the mail cost! I'd like some feedback about this. Several things you should know about the tape, wonderful things! There will be footage not only from the trip, but past footage from other Angry-Psychos of Poe concerts -- including Utah, Boston and Las Vegas. The soundtrack will include several bootleg recordings that are not widely available. Of course, YOU CAN STILL PRE-ORDER the tape by visiting www.lyza.com. Other things in the news here -- I hope to make my travelogue (that I wrote while on the trip) available on my Poe site in the next few days. I hope to be able to find time to do a nice update on my Poe page, I know it's been awhile! Please visit http://www.lyza.com/poe/ often in the next several days, as there will be plenty of new goodies. A big hello to: Cocky, Michaela, Christina, Rusty (and Marsha), Brad, Natalie, Mark, Rastko!, Rick, and Jimjimjim! You guys are utterly fantastic. Hi jeremy (I know I'll catch it if I don't say anything). Please write if a) You'd like to talk b) You have information/comments/questions pertaining to anything that I'm working on. c) You need to be removed from the list for whatever reason. I haven't been able to edit it lately. So let me know. It's great to be back!!! ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V2 #281 ***********************************
