Ok folks, I had hoped we could put this silly sXe thing behind us and begin peaceful discussions on hope, love and world tranquility, but obviously not. I have only one question for all the "supposed" sXe'ers out there........ if you are so good and so proper, then why are most religions loosing spiritual leaders ? I mean, I see all this talk of no sex, no drugs, no drinking or smoking, then why aren't you a preist or nun ? ? they can bungiee too, and they get all kinda of free stuff. Seem like a tangent ?? Ok, well it is, and here is why.... EVERY sXe person I EVER met turned out to be using the "title" to keep their IMAGE clean, not their body. It seemed that to them, having the nice shirts and symbols was a way to tell the law "hey, don't hastle me man, I am wearing this kooky shirt that means I don't do drugs or nufin....." then they get busted and they look so hurt because someone didn't belive their cute shirt and wanted to know the source of the smoke in the bathroom. Ok, some of you may be clean spiritualy and physicaly, buy why are you listening to angry, rebelous music then ? ? What use do you have for anti-establishment messages.... I mean, if you're so good, what do you need to rebel aganist ? ? high prices at the record store ? ? Are thing so bad in your clean, prosperous drug-alcohol-fat-etc free life that rebeling just for the sake of rebeling is enough to provide mental harmony ? ? These are the reasons I truly equate sXe with another popular group, the "Joiners". You know the type, when it was hip to have a chain neckless, they were stripping the schwin they got when bmx was cool. If you really need to be a joiner, and need to have a place, try the Marine Corps. They have this great lil program ( just over 13 weeks now ) that will definatly make you feel part of a team (that or else the dirt). Then, they provide pay, quarters, clothes, food, and a steady job, and they thrive on clean kids, just be sure to have your liver changed out every 3000 beers or 3 months, which ever is sooner ( ok, now this is experience talking, so I don't want no-one telling me about the dam military, I was there you wern't, unless you were, then of course you can say what ever you want, just not to me, I know ). Ok, I should wrap this rant up.... now I am sure there are still some true sXe'ers out there, vegan virgans with proper cholesteroal levals, clean livers and lungs who are true to themselves before anything else, and to those people I raise my hand in salute. Keep up the lifestyle and you may outlive all of us who complain about your choices, or you may get smushed with a bus. But, to all you joiners who are trying it just cuz your rap sheet is longer than "War & Peace", watch out, you are gonna get found out, then all your "friends" will leave you in the dust because you violated your stand (read: ha ha, you got busted and I didn't) while you try to explain that age old excuse "I was just holding it for a friend". Ok, now that I have made a whole new group of enemies, flame away. Or, we could FINALY let this thing rest on the idea that what's good for the goose may not be good for the gander. I just don't understand... but then again i am just your average everyday burnout. "...everything looks bad if you remember it" H.J. It grants virtue to the dominant groups and relegates vice to the underprivileged. A democratic morality should judge sexual acts by the way partners treat one another, the level of mutual consideration, the presence or absence of coercion, and the quantity and quality of the pleasures they provide. A GOOD place would have a place for both moshers and standers/sitters, where neither have to be far away. The Colliseum here in Madison, WI, is like that, but the standers/sitters have to be far away, or squished in the side where they better hope they're tall so they can see. On the other hand here, we have The Barrymore. IT's a converted theater, people can sit up close and see, the can stand up close and see, or they can have a REALLY good mosh pit up front and see. the only problem, and the reason no one sits in the front row, if it breaks into the aisle, which sometimes happens at the end of the show, then the moshers can be smashed into there. If you want moshers to be respectful to moving out of your way and stopping for a hurt person at the barrymore, yeah right, but at the coliseum, sure. MY point: DOn't blame moshers, it's the way crappy places are... the coliseum, you can't see but your safe in both the mosh pit and other wherez. The barrymore, you can see but you're not necessarilly safe. the problem is you need places where you can see and are safe. - -Landon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Aug 1997 13:01:12 -0500 From: Landon Beadle Subject: Re: KPR-moshin' and one more thing for moshing, doesn't poe frequently crowd surf or jump into the mosh pits at her concerts? if "the only good mosher is a dead one" then I guess you want poe dead, riiiiiight? :=DE Laterz, - -Landon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Aug 1997 11:46:30 PDT From: "Jess Gilwee" Subject: HEllo HEllo I was watching late night mtv last night and guess what I saw? I try to use "good and proper" only to reflect on the afore mentioned ethics base, which by not doing drugs or alcohol and being true to yourself, you are doing. Yes, I've been back for two weeks from my amazing Poe odyssey! Thanks go out to all of the Angry-Psychos who hosted me and thought of me and talked to me. This message is going to both the Angry-Psychos and my own update list, so there's many of you receiving this. I'd like to welcome the new subscribers to my Poe Page Update list. I'm sorry I haven't been in touch in a while, but I'm sure you all understand: I've been so busy after I got back from my trip that I have barely been online at all. THE POE TRIP VIDEO (IMPORTANT!!!!): Yes, the Poe Trip Video is in the works as we speak. On my trip, I shot over six hours of footage of all of you that I met and other phenomena. Currently, I am logging footage, a slow and thankless job, but an essential thing in the editing process. Once I am done with this, which should be in the next few days, I will begin to do a rough edit, followed by a technologically-advanced fine edit on an Avid (hopefully). Then I will accept money. The Poe Trip Video currently is selling to angry-psychos and Poe list members for $15. The cost is to cover: * video supplies * editing time, facilities, materials * duplication costs (over $5 a tape) * my costs incurred on the trip * etc. I am going to have to ask that those ordering a tape also include a postage fee (I'm not sure what it will be yet). I'm just incurring so many expenses that I don't think I can pocket the mail cost! I'd like some feedback about this. Several things you should know about the tape, wonderful things! There will be footage not only from the trip, but past footage from other Angry-Psychos of Poe concerts -- including Utah, Boston and Las Vegas. The soundtrack will include several bootleg recordings that are not widely available. Of course, YOU CAN STILL PRE-ORDER the tape by visiting www.lyza.com. Other things in the news here -- I hope to make my travelogue (that I wrote while on the trip) available on my Poe site in the next few days. I hope to be able to find time to do a nice update on my Poe page, I know it's been awhile! Please visit http://www.lyza.com/poe/ often in the next several days, as there will be plenty of new goodies. A big hello to: Cocky, Michaela, Christina, Rusty (and Marsha), Brad, Natalie, Mark, Rastko!, Rick, and Jimjimjim! You guys are utterly fantastic. Hi jeremy (I know I'll catch it if I don't say anything). Please write if a) You'd like to talk b) You have information/comments/questions pertaining to anything that I'm working on. c) You need to be removed from the list for whatever reason. This is designed with the intention of POE (and the band) getting online and reading the messages that we leave for her. It is in THE GOODS section. 2. There is a new section called "What POE is up to" (in THE GOODS section). This will be a running log of events and things that relate to POE. It is to serve two purposes: Inform you of up and coming stuff and a to keep a history of our Queen. 3. In THE PICTURES section there is a new photo. What makes this photo so exciting is the fact that it is the NEW Record Company Press Photo. This is the shot that will be sent out to press to represent POE. It is HoT! - -------------------------------------------- Thank You for supporting... In a message dated 97-08-18 11:55:37 EDT, you write: << I mean, I see all this talk of no sex, no drugs, no drinking or smoking, then why aren't you a preist or nun ? ? they can bungiee too, and they get all kinda of free stuff. ~~~~~~ hold on now, since when were all sXe'ers these clean cut guys in nice shirts???!?! The sXe'ers I know are what the norm of society would refer to as freaks... that is such an untrue statement, not all sXe'ers all clean cut AT ALL.... ~~~~~~ Ok, some of you may be clean spiritualy and physicaly, buy why are you listening to angry, rebelous music then ? ? What use do you have for anti-establishment messages.... ~~~~ some people listen to the music becuase they like the way it sounds, I know people who love a song and don't know one word to it, they fell in love with the way it sounded.. I LOVE Rage Against The Machine, but that doesn't mean that I spend most of my time glued to the Anarchist Cookbook plotting my next mail bomb to the CIA or anything... ~~~~~ I mean, if you're so good, what do you need to rebel aganist ? ? high prices at the record store ? ~~~~ The rest of the people out there are wanna bes, and they are not worthy of being called sXe and THEY ARE THE ONES WHO GIVE A BAD NAME TO THE TRUE sXe'ers!!! ~~~~~ Keep up the lifestyle and you may outlive all of us who complain about your choices, or you may get smushed with a bus. ~~~~ friends don't judge you on shit like that, and if they do, their not your friends... ~~~~ Ok, now that I have made a whole new group of enemies, flame away. Or, we could FINALY let this thing rest on the idea that what's good for the goose may not be good for the gander. I just don't understand... but then again i am just your average everyday burnout. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>> Ok, not trying to start anything, ok? Just stating my opinion..... I mean, for those of you who are sXe'ers, and you decide one day to retire your title, there is nothing wrong with changing your lifestyle, just like there is notthing wrong with someone who drinks, smokes, does drugs to change their way of life either... why cant you all just see that EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.. people who call themselves sXe and bring knives into a most pit are messed up and they are not who they say they are, and people who say theu don';t smoke and do when no one is looking is really concerned about what peopel think of them and have some personal issues they need to work out for themselves, who are we to judge??? YOU don't know what a person has to live with until you are in their shoes, which is pretty imposible, so we should all just accept each other for who we are, and if we APs really love each other then we need to love each others strengths AS WELL as our weaknesses... ap LOVE, (i think...)
