Well, I have to say that I have been reading this debate/war/flaming for the last 20+ messages and wonder why? It's one thing to say, "Well, am not sXe and couldn't really see myself as being one with all the other stuff I have done" and another all-together to say "sXe is boring. How could you think of doing it...it's just a trend...someday you'll grow out of it, go to some other trend, and wonder how you thought the way you did" Come on people! I would rather hear people bashing the color of their hair than the way they live thier lives. For my two cents worth, I can view the whole thing from both sides. I was sXe (althought it wasn't called that) for many a year and still had fun. I would go to parties that alcahol and drugs were served and still have fun not doing any of it...just watching the people who were making complete asses out of themselves and laughing. It was also reassuring for alot of people there knowing they had a designated driver of sorts to take them home in their plastered state. My only vice now is drinking every now and then, but I never get plastered, just "tipsy". I was scared away from drugs in high school because of things done to my friends because of them and don't smoke because the smell annoys me. So, for the most part I could still be in the "sXe" catagory...and, yes, I still have a hell of alot of fun. FourHorsemen (stepping off his soap-box) P.S. Casey, never say sorry. Yes, I've been back for two weeks from my amazing Poe odyssey! Thanks go out to all of the Angry-Psychos who hosted me and thought of me and talked to me. This message is going to both the Angry-Psychos and my own update list, so there's many of you receiving this. I'd like to welcome the new subscribers to my Poe Page Update list. I'm sorry I haven't been in touch in a while, but I'm sure you all understand: I've been so busy after I got back from my trip that I have barely been online at all. THE POE TRIP VIDEO (IMPORTANT!!!!): Yes, the Poe Trip Video is in the works as we speak. On my trip, I shot over six hours of footage of all of you that I met and other phenomena. Currently, I am logging footage, a slow and thankless job, but an essential thing in the editing process. Once I am done with this, which should be in the next few days, I will begin to do a rough edit, followed by a technologically-advanced fine edit on an Avid (hopefully). Then I will accept money. The Poe Trip Video currently is selling to angry-psychos and Poe list members for $15. The cost is to cover: * video supplies * editing time, facilities, materials * duplication costs (over $5 a tape) * my costs incurred on the trip * etc. I am going to have to ask that those ordering a tape also include a postage fee (I'm not sure what it will be yet). I'm just incurring so many expenses that I don't think I can pocket the mail cost! I'd like some feedback about this. Several things you should know about the tape, wonderful things! There will be footage not only from the trip, but past footage from other Angry-Psychos of Poe concerts -- including Utah, Boston and Las Vegas. The soundtrack will include several bootleg recordings that are not widely available. Of course, YOU CAN STILL PRE-ORDER the tape by visiting www.lyza.com. Other things in the news here -- I hope to make my travelogue (that I wrote while on the trip) available on my Poe site in the next few days. I hope to be able to find time to do a nice update on my Poe page, I know it's been awhile! Please visit http://www.lyza.com/poe/ often in the next several days, as there will be plenty of new goodies. A big hello to: Cocky, Michaela, Christina, Rusty (and Marsha), Brad, Natalie, Mark, Rastko!, Rick, and Jimjimjim! You guys are utterly fantastic. Hi jeremy (I know I'll catch it if I don't say anything). Please write if a) You'd like to talk b) You have information/comments/questions pertaining to anything that I'm working on. c) You need to be removed from the list for whatever reason. I haven't been able to edit it lately. So let me know. It's not dull, they just find other ways to have fun besides getting drunk or high.. Natural highs, man, like sky diving, bungee jumping--you don;t have to be drunk to enjoy that, and that stuff is awesome...it's kinda ignorant to say it's dull when you're kinda in the dark on the whole topic. just a thought... not a flame :) AP Love, Ashley sXe get there kicks from beating up those of us who do do drugs, sex, alcohol, etc...i don't know bout you, but i think that's pretty low if you are so against something you've never tried that you have to beat up people who choose to live their live a little different than you....i don't like sXe...... ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Aug 1997 13:56:10 PDT From: "dazed ." Well merry meet and hello all! After having been to the Poe Fest 97 on Sat, I feel I should join POE.org and say hi! (Kind of reverse, I know, but hey whatever works) As the subscribe list goes, here's my info: I am Mark Anthony Costa, hailing from San Jose in the sunny state of California! I am 25 years of age. I first heard of Poe on the radio some time back, but did not know of her fan club or the Angry Psychos until I connected up and talked with Roger Knox. Nowadays I listen to mostly "alternative" groups...Bush, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica (old and new), No Doubt, Everclear, Primus, Collective Soul, etc...however I still have a place in my heart for hip-hop, R&B, soul, and some rap (from the high school days). Other information: go by FourHorsemen if you are ever on DAL.net on IRC at 3AM. I am an avid rollerblader, night owl, enjoy fine dining, shooting pool, and generally having fun. Hmmm...oh yeah...I think Poe is a major babe-a-licious with a kickin voice, and think Cameron is the shit just for doing what he is obviously easily able to do...with a CELLO! (I didn't know you could put pickups on a cello...) If ya ever want to chat, send me a line at blondie6@ix.netcom.com.
