Also in case you don't check the guest book all that often check a copy of the letter I included, what do you think I want to get the idea movin'! I came here in search of POE. Last summer, she was very easy to find in the media and on tour. This summer, I am stuck with the constant thumping coming from "alternative stations" on the new techno kick which will pass as its sister, house music did. POE has lasting groove sounds and lyrics that helps the mindless radio masses reclaim their souls. Could you let me in on the big secret- where is she, what is she doing, and when can I expect her to resurface? I heard she was on Lovelines radio show but I missed it, they were talking about asking her to come back because she is some awesome. What do you think Mr./Ms. Administrator? I briefly met the woman in Strawberries in Boston. I tell you since the original Lollapalooza there has not been a better reason to ditch the responsibilities of the world for the sake of music. She is a gem. Additionally, how about this for a marketing appproach. We've had the Freak fair (Lollapalooza), the cutting edge carnival (HORDE tour), lady's night (Lilith fair), and the new Warp tour has been marking its territory, and all of these package deals seem to be selling fairly well. What about coordinating a little groove thang. I am thinking Jamariqui, Portishead, US3, Sugar Ray, (I would have said Soul Coughing here but they have jumped on the latest bandwagon), and of course POE. I am sure I am forgeting some artists but I think you get the idea. During the set up and break down of bands you could have spoken-word performances. Anyway, I think since the recent hype over the late and great Allen Ginsberg, the public awareness has again risen to a point of conciousness that this type of thing would promote; not to mention some of our deeper, thinking, feeling artists, could finally have a large venue where audiences could gather and get into the mellow vibes which we all seem to be so desperately lacking in our day to day realities. What do you think? I would love a reponse, but this isn't my computer so should you decide you want to chat it up, write me back... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Jul 1997 17:09:17 PDT From: "Kung-Gene Chu" Subject: Re: Poe and Apocalypse Hey all...I am signing on from a temporary (perhaps permanent)email address here at camp.
