They are the most accurate method of encoding ever. As for recording stuff, it's about as had as plugging in a tape player or CD player to your computer and hitting play. Once you've recorded it, you run an encoder on it, which takes anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes depending on your system. No, you aren't required to have a P100 w/16mb of RAM, (even though that's about the minimum to even use Win95.) There is a DOS port of WinAMP, an excellent MP3 player. If you want proof, here's a list of people who use WinAMP (or a port of it) http://www.nullsoft.com/old_survey_results.html - ---------- > From: x-jiff-x@juno.com > To: ajello@wenet.net > Cc: angry-psychos@smoe.org > Subject: Re: Music Exchange > Date: Friday, June 27, 1997 8:40 PM > > > On Fri, 27 Jun 1997 17:05:21 -0700 "Chris Ajello" > writes: > >->]My ICQ# is 325125[<- > > > >How many of you ap's have heard of MP3 encoding? Kim" Subject: KPR: Face/Off There was an interesting tidbit in the movie "Face/Off". Sean Archer (John Travolta), as an FBI agent, just put Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage) and his brother into prison. They found a ZIP disk which belonged to Castor's brother. When they loaded it, there was a drawing of a well-endowed female with the name "Sabrina" (?). Sounds of an aroused female are playing in the background, then the screen flashes and says "I'm gonna blow you", flashes again and says "Away". In another scene, when a number is pressed on a keypad, little fireballs encircle the number. Of course, this had nothing to do with POE--I don't think John Woo is too much of a fan of American music, but I thought it was neat how coincidental it was. In general, "Face/Off" is John Woo's best American movie yet. The story is somewhat believeable (some suspension of disbelief is required), there is an actual bodycount, and the action scenes are amazing. If there are any John Woo fans out there, mail me PRIVATELY. I am from Leicester, which is a small city, population approximately 150,000 for the entire county of Leicestershire. Leicester is in the East Midlands region of England. I am 21 years old, born at 3pm on the 17th of february 1976. I first heard of Poe during August last year whilst I was on holiday in San Diego, california. Angry Johnny was getting a lot of radio play during my time there and I loved the song. Before returning to england I bought the album and loved it. My particular favourites are Angry Johnny, That Day, Hello and Fly Away. Poe has not yet released anything in England, the Hello album is available here on import. I live in the hope that Poe will release her music here soon. Other musicians I listen to are Helium, Chainsuck, Sister machine Gun, Rose Chronicles, No Doubt, Gravity Kills, Eeels, Nirvana, Hole, KMFDM, NIN, Sheryl Crow and many more. More about me... I am an aspiring writer and hope to be a succesful author in the field of Gothic horror and factual paranormal books. I am studying Media Studies at college and would like to write for a paranormal magazine. My other interests include sport (especially Boxing), reading, movies, computers, Pool and more. If anyone wishes to email me, please feel free. As no Poe stuff is available here I would be very grateful to hear from anybody who has any to trade. I shall sign off for now, stay happy! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Jun 1997 11:01:04 -0400 (EDT) From: Egirl1234@aol.com Subject: Re: dAy ThrEE: The Las Vegas Story that story was so cool....not boring in the least....wish I could have been there ;) nadine ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Jun 1997 11:35:20 -0400 From: J Myers Subject: Ap List Fund ok people, the deadline is this Wednesday if you want to help the person who runs our mailing list replace a bad Hard Drive.
