If you park in long-term parking, don't leave your dome light on. Especially for 50 hours straight. No dings no nothing when I got back. Even the locks where dead. 2. Leaving later than schedule can be advantageous. Explanation: I flew from SLC to Denver, and then I had a flight scheduled from Denver to Milwaukee. They were looking for volunteers to give up their seats to Milwaukee, and fly through Chicago to Milwaukee. So, I did. What did I get? An extra two hour wait in Chicago. Sometimes I can be a picky person. Though I usually don't complain. Well, I thought I'd make this "complaint" post to the list, in hopes that the volume of mail that we receive can be reduced, at least by a few letters. The following is a list of things that people do when they post that just wastes everyone's time. I'm not yelling at anyone, I know that I have violated these on more than one account. I'm sure most of you already know these tips, but it's just to provide you with more knowledge... NOTE: Notice that quite a few of these are from the AP welcome letter. Did everyone read this? 1. NPR - Non-Poe Related, speaks for itself. Though this is a Poe mailing list, sometimes you may want to send one that is not Poe related. If you do, please use an NPR prefix in the subject line. 2. Flaming - No one likes to be flamed. Try your best not to flame others. If you do, send it PRIVATELY, not to the other hundreds of APs. 3. "Me too's" - Replying to a message that says something like "Yeah, that happened to me too" should definitely be sent PRIVATELY to whoever you are replying to. 4. Chain letters - Do not send chain letters, no matter how many you are supposed to send. NOTE: Lots of chain letters say that they aren't a chain letter in the first paragraph (ie: Virus warnings, donations to charity if you send to everyone you know). 5. Person-to-person - I've seen two replies today (6/23) that where meant for one person only. When you reply, think about who you should send it to- the list, or that one person. 6. General replying - Even if you send it to the list, check to make sure that you are not also sending it to the original author as well (usually by CC). They get two of the same message. * Jokes - Everyone can use a good laugh. No one usually complains. Just use an NPR. Thanks for listening to my complaints! She also did this in Rochester in May. I don't recall the exact order of the songs... I am sure someone knows and could post it to the list. I like the new setlist... This poster thing has been a little confusing due to my scattered Poe-addled mind. Check out the "Dolphin" poster at www.poe.org/middle.html Part of any profits will go to help APs attend concerts. All of the details for this fund are not worked out yet, but Modern and Jarrod are assisting with the logistics. So, any profits will go to an AP fund, OR any charity that Poe wants, such as LAFF. This kind of work is how I attempt to make my living (crazy, I know) so I hope to make a few bucks, give Modern Records and Poe more publicity, donate some money to help APs (or a charity of Poe's choice), AND help finance the bash West Coast Angry-Psycho Poe Fest in Monterey August 9. I have financed this project entirely on my own. Poe and Paul Fishkin saw the original painting in Long Beach and were very enthusiastic. Sooooo, I hope this clears up some of the confusion about my posts. My public thanks to Jarrod for his support on this project.
