Maybe it is because I am in a bad mood and desperate for some flames, or maybe it is something else. I thought we were done discussing this smoking thing last week. I am in college, and just about everyone I know, including me, smokes. For those of you out there who have a real problem with that, I am sure that there are things about yourself that drive other people nuts! That is why there are two DIFFERENT sections to sit at in a restaraunt. If someone smokes, it is their life. You don't need to get upset at other people for something they do. They are not hurting anyone! (And before someone says this, I might as well... they are not hurting anyone but themselves if they choose to smoke.) Really, people, there are better things to discuss on this list then smoking. Come on! So, in light of recent events, I am asking you to make a new chatroom in addition to the original poe.org one that is strictly for ap's only, as i see the recruiting benefits of poe.org, i also believe that ap's should be able to converse with each other without fear of being harrassed. Maybe a password would be made that only ap's would know, and it would be changed once a month or so in order to maintain security. Or, an alternate plan...put up a disclaimer on poe.org restricting the language use...i hate censorship too, but i don't like going in to a chatroom i have used for months and being called a f***ing B**ch and told to blow goats simply because i asked to be left alone. First of all I'd just like to say that I am very excited to be a member of the Angry Psychos! It is so wonderful that this organization was created so enabling fans of Poe to speak with eachother. My name is Erynne O'Connor and I'm from Worcester, Massachusetts. I am 19 years old (this is beginning to sound like an AA meeting!) and I'm going to be a Junior at my State College for English. I love Poe and I think she is truly a beautiful person for being so caring about her fans. I first heard of her when "Hello" was played on the radio station I listen to (107.3 WAAF) and I believe that was some months ago... It drove me to buy the album and my interest grew even more when I heard she was coming to the area just last week... Unfortunately I'm not 21, so I was not able to go... but it was taped over the radio and I was gratefully able to record it... after that I searched the web for more info. and that's how I got here! Thank you! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jun 1997 21:26:25 -0400 From: silver pepper <73214.1142@compuserve.com> Subject: Re: strange qustion - cough, cough Some of my best friends smoke- that's not the point. With me, the biggest thing is not how mu= ch smoking is actually bad for your body- that's not what's stopping me from= smoking. What's stopping me from smoking is that I (personally) find smoking a disgusting habit. For some reason, I happen to find smoking vile... just simply vile. And for that reason, I would sooner smoke hash= (possibly laced with G-d- knows- what) than a cigarette. I know that's a= strong statement, but I think it shows my point. silver pepper girl the girl who would sooner smoke pot than a cigarette simply because she finds cigarettes vile. = ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jun 1997 21:27:33 -0400 From: silver pepper <73214.1142@compuserve.com> Subject: Re: strange qustion - cough, cough ipotent and infirtile are two different things, my friend. silver pepper girl the girl who would sooner smoke hash than a cigarette, simply because she= finds cigarettes repulsive. = ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jun 1997 21:37:49 -0400 (EDT) From: Flickergrl@aol.com Subject: BRETTE'S POE EXPERIENCE!!!!! hey hey all!! i met POE yesterday. i have one word... WOW. jarrod always said i would get my chance, and he was right. it was soooo worth it. anyway, i flew to raleigh to stay with my cousins who lived there. my cousin melissa (she's 17) was gonna take me to the show. it was a b-day present...flying up there, the show, etc. i was gonna get a Fender Strat instead, but i turned that down to see POE. anyway.. i got there at 11:00, and was walking around. then Jon Bell came up to me, 'cuz he saw i was carrying my A-P jacket, and introduced himself. he was cool. then at like 11:30 or so, we saw a whole bunch of other A-Ps with a box of t-shirts. i met a whole bunch more cool people like Kat, Alison, Kent..and everyone else. we all went in and arranged a meeting spot right before POE went on to hand out flyers and stuff. after we did that, we went to go watch the Mistress of Groove do her thing!! a whole bunch of A-Ps ended up sitting right near each other. POE did (i don't know if the order is right..) That Day, Choking the Cherry, Hello, Trigger Happy Jack, Angry Johnny, and How Long. if i had one complaint about the entire show it was that it was too short!!! during hello, POE saw all of us A-Ps, so she jumped off the stage and right up the aisle to us. she then jumped on top of us and was crowd surfing with just the 15 of us holding her up. After her set was over, my cousin and i met up w/ Kat and Alison. we decided to go over to the computer tent, because we heard POE was going to be doing an online chat from backstage and we could ask her questions. we went over there, and it turned out to be Jones on the 'puter, but not POE. we talked to jones for a bit (he was backstage online, and we were in the tent online), and i asked him if he was gonna be at the A-P meet and greet. he said he didn't know, but he thought it was going on now! then it began to pour, and since we didn't see any other A-Ps around, we had to run out in the rain (it was POURING!) and find them. god forbid we should miss the meet and greet. by the time we found them we were soaked, but it had stopped raining. The meet and greet was scheduled for 4:45, and we had lots of time, so all of the A-Ps were just sitting around this picnic table talking. lots of them signed my yearbook. i then saw Duncan Sheik standing by the entrance to section 1 seating, so i went up to him and we talked, and he signed autographs for me and my friend carol. i then took a photo with him, and kat did too. he was nice. then Jones came out to talk while i was with Duncan, and someone said he asked about me. When i came back, introduced myself. he signed my yearbook and circle my picture (which was incredibly bad!) and wrote "to a "beautiful girl" xoxo JONES." at 4:45 they let the first group of A-Ps in, which was my group. we talked with POE for awhile. I asked her to sign a bunch of stuff, including my yearbook, and my CD cover, and something for carol and leah. i also gave her presents... a pinky ring with a dream catcher on it, a stone with a dolphin on it, and a bracelet of rainbow beaded flowers, which she put on. then i'm like "hi, i'm brette. i flew from FL to be here. this is my birthday present (my birthday is june 4)" and she's like "OH!!! you are the one who's mom knows someone who knows my mom!" and i was amazed she knew this. so i'm like "yup..our moms had lunch together 3 summers ago in New Jersey!" heehee. and some other stuff we talked about, that had to do with my birthday. she was so nice. after like 15 minutes they brought another group of A-Ps in, and let us stay. all in all we were there for at least an hour and a half. we took a bunch of group shots, too. it was incredibly cool. i met some really cool people... Kat, Alison, Kent, Jon, Jason, Cristina, and everyone else too. it so ruled at it was the best birthday present i've ever had. i've been away like 28 hours and i already miss everyone!! now i am sunburned, sick, and have a migraine and an english final tommorrow, but this weekend was so damn worth it!!!!!!!!!
