Orton" Subject: Denver, Battle of Bands Just got back from the denver show. Poe puts on a great show! Lots of energy, crowd surfing. She really connected with the crowd. Poe opened with that day. She played angry johnny, hello, how long, dolphin. It was a short set (many bands played tonite). She was great! Jane Jenson played before Poe. After the show we went backstage and hung with Poe. Autographs and pictures for about 20min. She then left to catch a plane. We hung out in her dressing room, drinking her beer and scotch. We ate her chips. Later someone spotted Jane Jenson. Her autograph was pursued, and then a photo. I left the show after that. While I was there, I heard Jane was 16! She looked it. She was hot, but cannot compare to Poe! Padma, thanx man! Things were great. Sorry I missed your 2nd party, I'll catch ya later! I tried to vote in BotB, but I got an invalid DNS error. Whats with that? Server down? Shaun :) P.S. Quote of the night: In here show, when refering to Red Rocks Ampitheater, Poe said "It's fu**ing beautiful here! It's like Satan and God both take their vacation here!" I hope I got the quote exactly right, if not i am sorry. It was very close to that. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 May 1997 02:32:52 -0400 From: silver pepper <73214.1142@compuserve.com> Subject: Friends w/o a face Psychos and Jason: I know you don't like fowards, but read this anyway! It's very appropriate!!! Friends Without Faces We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens, We all have to wonder, what this possibly means. With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze, Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze. We chat with each other, we type all out woes, Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes. We wait for somebody, to type out our name, We want recognition, but it is always the same. We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt, In IMs we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt. We do form friendships - but - why we don't know, But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow. Why is it on screen, we can be so bold, Telling our secrets, that have never been told. Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind, With those we can't see, as though we were blind. The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell. We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.. We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must, So we turn to the puter, and to those we can trust. Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains, They are Friends Without Faces, and with odd little names. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 May 1997 23:34:38 -0700 From: "TyM@n" Subject: Re: hey i need to ask a favour.... > But for god's sake it defeats the purpose of the > friggin' poll. Were those who asked people to stop this nonsense wrong? You know, I am well aware of WHERE my delete button is, and I use it quite often with THIS list. And you are right, we DON'T have to read these, but in case you weren't aware, it does take a considerable amount of time to DELETE over 100 useless emails. I really don't think that there is any need to condescend towards the people who have asked that all of you "fun people" stop flooding our mailboxes. We have asked politely, and if you disagree, well, fine, but I don't see the need to belittle us with emails such as this one below. - -Tim On Sun, 11 May 1997 13:23:55 -0700 mb882 writes: >Okay- Us lame 'fun ' people put 70 posts up yesterday!!!!Allright! Now >lets see if the complainers can TOP THAT!!! Hey, everyone! Whats up? I recently have been getting questions about what ever happened to The Poe Press; well i decided id tell everyone! About 2 weeks after The Poe Press was created, an important staff member quit, then it all fell through after that. So I think we, the Angry Psychos, should create an Internet POE fan club. Due to the fact that, the official POE fan club, has yet to show its self, and with an internet club, it is easier to get the latest news on POE out to the subscribers! I want to help run thius club with 2 other people; meaning that, there are 3 "main" people that run and work the club. Then other staff members that make the club, a club. And then theres the Angry-Psychos that give us ideas, and keep us alive. I think the club should be called "The Angry Psychos Fan Club (APFC)." But that will be decided by me and the 3 other,( i will just call us CEO's for now ), CEO's if we should keep that name. Right now, i am looking for 2 other CEO's to start this fan club, then once all 3 of us are together, we will decide what other posistion we need!
