Aside from seeing Poe, that show has got to be one of the most worthless talk show. How can I put it......BORING! Poe was beautiful as always, it just seemed to me, that she was totally out of her element. Don't get me wrong, I'm always more than happy to see her on shows, receiving the exposer that she deserves. However, I just don't understand why she was there on that show. She's better than that, and deserves prime-time. I'm bias. Not that I can think of anything on prime-time thats much better. Oh well, exposer is exposer (better than nothin'). And as always, she she was great despite the format of the show. I loved that "what's that on your shirt?"...(pop the nose) thing she did. She's so cute! I'm done now! UGH I had never seen that show before tonight... and all I have to say is gimme a break. That type of piss-poor wanna be humor doesn't belong on TV. Not even Poe could begin to save that show. No, she didnt mention the APs or poe.org or anything, but she really didn't say very much period. And Darrin was right, she was completely out of her element with a bunch of 40+ stuffy conservatives who were trying to be funny. The host flashed her CD cover around a few times, so that was good publicity, and she IS getting her face out there. But then again, I dont think the types of people who would be watching a cheesy show like that at midnight are going to be the same types that could appreciate her music. two thumbs down, emily ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 5 May 1997 23:48:02 EDT From: x-jiff-x@juno.com (Dave Hogan) Subject: Support Nondescrimination sorry if anyone receiving this doesn't want it, but i think this is something that deserves some support... if you're not interested, just delete it. It is also the first airline to adopt a written non-discrimination policy covering sexual orientation in its employment practices. An unusual joint letter was released to the media on Friday, March 14th from the Family Research Council, Concerned Women of America, American Family Association and Coral Ridge Ministries. Radical right leader Beverly LaHaye also went on Christian "talk radio" on Friday to blast American Airlines because "American's sponsorship of homosexual 'pride' events constitutes an open endorsement of promiscuous homo- sexuality." She and the other groups have written Bob Crandall at American to complain that the airline has "gone beyond mere tolerance" of gays and lesbians. The full article appeares in Friday's Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and possibly picked up by other newspapers around the country. It has come to the attention of the gay and Lesbian community that American Airline's switchboard and e-mails are being bombarded now by homophobic and hateful callers who have been urged by LaHaye and others to DEMAND the company terminate its gay-friendly policies. WHAT YOU CAN DO At the end of this note is a petition supporting American Airlines' stance on gay rights. If you feel that discrimination is in nobody's best interest, add your name to the list below. And, of course, pass it on. IF YOU ARE the 25th, 50th, 75th, 100th, etc., person to sign this petition, please forward this copy to American Airlines at: webmaster@amrcorp.com To American Airlines: We, the undersigned, support your gay/lesbian rights polices and commend you for your efforts in ending discrimination. Thank you for your dedication to such issues and please continue to remain active in the struggle to end discrimination. 1. Marybeth Kurtz, Philadelphia, PA 2. Jen Faust, Goucher College, Balto. It was great to see Poe, but I totally agree that she was out of her element on Politically Incorrect, especially with the likes of Jason Alexander (who is so extroverted), that awful lady who was VP Potatohead's speechwriter, and the snooty host of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." She struck me as a gentle soul wanting to get her 2#162# in, but she was never permitted to finish a thought. Too bad! If they were really want to know more and have access to a computer then you can type POE in a search. Is that so much to ask for? Maybe at shows she can i guest that will be alright but she does not have to she has other things on her mind and might forget or something. I like the show Politically Incorrect, this show was not very good tho. Well I am not sure about the Rosie O'Donnel show but i really do not think shows will listen to a few people writing them to put them on the show. You have to call them up and book it, I really do not know but unless they really know them they wont call you. This is my periodic spiel for the MWAPs (Midwest Angry-Psychos) regional list. I know the AP list has had a lot of new members lately, so if don't have a clue what the MWAP list is, or even if you don't know whether or not you live in the Midwest (quick test: run to the nearest window and count how many cows you see), then go to the MWAP HomePAGE: http://eagle.cc.ukans.edu/~eskitek/MWAP.html Even if you are sure that you don't live in the midwest, but are just really bored or something, you can check out that site. Thanks to Lawrence for help with the table, and be sure to check out the link to his part of the MWAP homePAGE. We have about 30 members now... NEAPs we're catching up with you! Also, ilmortal has a cool list of ALL the APs and their email addresses at: http://www.bluemoon.net/~ilmortal/angryp.html if you're interested. I'm so sorry... for the ones going to the show, please send POE our hugs and kisses and tell her we love her. Once again, I sincerely apologize.
