NOW Anxious Angry Psychos, This is it, time to get your tapes!! :) :) Listen (listen?), PLEASE read EVERY word of this post. Many of you are experienced tape "leaves" and/or "branches". However, many are not and may be totally lost in this. This post is written for their benefit...the rookies. So veterans, please bear with me and read all of this ALSO so YOU don't miss anything. I have spent ungodly hours preparing this tree. Please spend the few minutes it will take to read this whole post. Print it out if you have to. (I suggest you do) A SYNOPSIS OF THE PROCEDURE: This Angry Psycho Tape Tree is ONE tape. You (the leaf) will EMAIL me during your specified time period (shown later in this post) requesting tapes. I will assign you to a branch and then send an EMAIL to the list that will include all branches and their leaves. The branch will contact you when it is time for you to mail him/her blank tapes. That may be two or three weeks from now, so be patient, if it is to be longer, he/she will contact you. You will then send a blank tape per instructions below and/or dictated by your branch. The branch will copy the tape for you and mail them back. You then listen to this wonderful tape in bliss. - - ---------- ELIGIBILITY FOR TAPES: To receive the Angry Psycho Tape as a leaf, you must be a member of the Angry-Psychos mailing list. There will be no exceptions. There are very good reasons for this and I will not go in to them now. - - ---------- BLANK TAPES: Due to the _very_ high quality of the master tape I have of the AP tape tree, we strongly suggest you get Type II blank tapes, and I highly recommend Maxell XLIIS 90 tapes. They DO last longer than Type I and Maxell XLII. You'll be doing yourself a favor by getting better blanks than you usually do. - - ---------- MAILING BLANK TAPES TO YOUR BRANCH: When your branch notifies you, you will send him/her your ONE blank NINETY MINUTE tape in a padded/bubblewrap mailer, and will include in the package enough postage to cover the return mailing. If you enclose a $3 "Space Shuttle Stamp" (United States only), your branch can mail it via US priority mail. You can mail your blank tapes in one of two basic ways: 1) A smaller padded UNSEALED envelope (containing your 1 blank tape) placed inside a larger padded one, which will also contain the return postage & a SELF ADDRESSED RETURN MAILING LABEL. You would seal the larger padded envelope (with the smaller one inside) and mail that to your branch. - or - 2) a padded envelope large (but not too large) enough to hold your 1 blank tape plus the return postage and a SELF ADDRESSED RETURN MAILING LABEL. The branch would use the SAME padded envelope to return the tapes. Method #1 is the prefered method to assure a smooth procedure. Please consider using it. If you are unsure of how much to put on the RETURN mailer for return postage, or to include in the package for the return postage, just do the following at a post office near you: Get the small padded envelope that your branch will be sending the tapes back to you in and put your tape in it. Place it on the scale (or ask the clerk to do so) and buy STAMPS (not post office pre-paid/DATED ones) to cover the postage. Put that unsealed padded envelope in a larger envelope. Seal it, pay for the postage on it, and mail it. If you don't use a larger envelope to place the smaller one inside, do the same thing (have it weighed) and buy STAMPS, put them inside, seal it, pay for the postage on it and mail it. - - ---------- WHEN TO EMAIL ME: NOW... I must recieve all leaf sign up's by one week from today! That means you have until MONDAY APRIL 28. 1997 to email me. On Monday 4/28 this tree will be closed for sign-ups permanently. As I said above, if you miss this time slot, you will very likely be able to get copies from one of the many APs who will have these tapes when this tree is completed. - - ---------- HOW TO EMAIL ME: Do NOT get this wrong! It HAS to be right!! When you EMAIL me, you HAVE TO use the following format in the _SUBJECT_ of the EMAIL, NOT the body, but the SUBJECT!!: all lowercase letters, no capital letters please! example------> leaf - lastname, firstname (country or US territory) example------> leaf - clinton, bill example------> leaf - van dyke, dick (canada) example------> leaf - vega, antonio (puerto rico) You DO NOT have to fill in the country if its the USA (50 states only), US territories please fill in your territory name. All other countries fill in your country name. That's it. No AP, no Angry Psychos, just --> leaf - lastname, firstname (country) In the body of the EMAIL just tell me you'd like the Angry Psychos Tape Tree 2. - - ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- Ladies and Gentlemen, start your keyboards! ;) Everyone involved in this project sincerely hope you enjoy your tapes, Your fellow Angry Psycho, rusty ________________ thanks to Mike Connell over at the Jewel list for this template! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Apr 1997 11:18:10 +0000 From: "Jason Helton" Subject: Richmond and DC shows (and stickers & Rochester show) Unbelievable!. They were so great. In DC she did Fingertips and A Rose is a Rose, two that I've never seen before. I was wondering if anybody has image files for the "Poe" and "Angry-Psycos" stickers that Ed had. I was thinking about making some clear ones. If anyone has these, please email me. If I get them and anybody wants some, just tell me. I can probably make a lot of them. Maybe I'll take some to Rochester. Obout the Rochester show, does anybody have info? Are tickets on sale yet, is it sold out (if not, where can we get them?), and when is it (17th, time?)?. Is there a list for the show? I guess that's enough questions for now. To all the AP's I met at the shows: I had a great time. You guys are the best. Hope to see you again in NY. For those of you who left early to go to DC, Sponge was awesome also. I was about 2 inches from Vinnie when he came out into the crowd to sing. I was afraid to touch hime though because I thought that someone would haul me away for trying to assault him. I heard that DC was awesome but that would have been way too much driving for one day and me and John were already tired to begin with. I loved meeting all of you although I didn't get to talk to too many of you. If anyone has any pictures that they wouldn't mind giving up, I would greatly appreciate them because (1) I didn't go to DC and (2) I didn't take my camera into the BuzzFest. One more thing before I go, Jarrod, I hope that you had a happy birthday and I'm sorry for not wishing you one on Saturday, I was too wrapped up in meeting Poe for the first time!!! Got back from the shows yesterday at around 4 and slept all day..still haven't fully recovered. I had a great time meeting you all who went to richmond, and hope to see you all again in Rochester (if anyone needs a place to crash, just let me know). I found out today i'm definately going to be there and i'm leaving for vegas the 20th. Brian, the word I got at the BUSSFEST as to why Fighting Gravity was not there was because they had the opportunity to headline a show somewhere else. I'm not sure where that was..perhaps someone else can help out with that. Just a slight personal thing I didn't like about the show... you who didn't go maybe don't know about this, but cracker put up a stink about playing in front of poe and sponge because they thought they deserved better than that. They switched ahead of poe but not sponge. That was straight from cameron's mouth (He wanted us to give cracker a hard time). When cracker came out they made a statement that they got more air time than any of the other bands there, and at the end they kind of feigned trashing their instruments. If your going to be pissed off then really be pissed off. I thought they were kind of stupid tossing their instruments down and lightly pushing over the drum set and a few amps. I think cracker makes some good songs but i lost a lot of respect for the band because of this. With the help of Rick Master's (thanks you rule!) I was lucky enough to get the set list for the show in DC. Here it is Fingertips Choking Hello Fly Away Don't Mess (control) Anything Jane That Day Dolphin (Cameron's solo was unbelievable here, hope someone got it) Beautiful Johnny Trigger How Long Then she played an encore, something in any of my six shows i've never seen her do. She played: Junkie and A rose is a rose. Plus there was a speed metal jam in there somewhere. Hope to see everyone from richmond and meet more of you in Rochester the 17th. They just kinda stood there until the "guitar smash" (ha! whatever!) And most bands there tried to dress up a bit and look cool, cracker came out in dirty wrinkly clothes. they looked like they had just woken up and decide we weren't worth the time to shower and practice and dress a bit more like the rock stars they THINK they are! i used to like their music, but i'm no longer a fan. someone needs to bring their ego-blimp back down to earth! - -becky=) mother@poe.org @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ $ Listen to PSYCHO on New Rock ACRN $ $ 99.3 caFM Saturday nights 10pm-12 $ $ Check out my web page: $ $ http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~acrn/djs/psycho.html $ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ~~~~~~~~ =O) ~~~~~~~~~ On Tue, 22 Apr 1997, Gregg wrote: > Whats up psychos! I have the original electronic file from which I make lino (linotronic) "masters" that xerox well. If you make copies from copies, the quality will suffer greatly. We have taken great effort to keep our look as professional as possible. This is one of the things that got us noticed by Poe and Modern. Your cooperation is appreciated! If you need a master, I'm asking $9 to defray costs. Email me directly if you have any questions. The flyer made be changed soon to reflect our growing numbers...all the more reason to circulate only copies made from the masters. The possibility of Angry-Psychos... "For us to be with POE." www.poe.org I second that. Modern addressed, to me, a couple of changes that need to be made to the flyer. Please do not re-copy existing flyers. I will get with Roger soon to make the necessary changes.
