BTW, everyone in Poe's crew, the band, and Poe herself were all wearing the AP jackets!!... i then found Toby plyaing around and gave him tape tree 2 to give to Poe., he said cool and told me to find her after the show... the opening band, Agnus Gooch, is really cool.. i recommend you all try to see them.. they are on WEA (like Poe) and their cd is due out June 17. i got to talk with them as well, and they said we should come out and see them when they come to atlanta. we saw the show and Poe rocked! she did an excellent version of "fingertips" with just cameron to start the show... Poe loves to spary her audience with water, so come prepaired.... Poe also took a stage dive right on top of me... it was funny watching her play with the audience as they all reached to just touch her... the new songs are really cool "anything" and the yet not sure of title "take control".... and "how long" rocked as well.... after the show, we just walked backstage (i had my AP jacket on, so i looked like i was with the band:) i talked with cameron at that time and some more with toby.... about 45 minutes later, we all walked out the stage door to wait for Poe outside (she was in the bus changing and recuperating) she then came out and told me to wait a minute while she signed autographes for those who had been waiting on the otherside of the bus in the street since the show ended (it was also like 40 outside). a few minutes later, she came back around and was talking to me and 3 other girls (we were the cool people Poe remembered as long time fans)... :) so, she signed my cd cover and one for my brother and marsha's sticker.... i talked with Poe about the tape tree's for the list... she said that she wants to approve all the one's in the future... she said she would be helping me with this, so that is cool... she said she does not like some her performances and she doesn't want the ones she doens't like on the tape.. also, she had no clue that the techno mixes of "hello" that are on tape 2 were released by atlantic in germany... she was shocked when i told her this... i told that is the only reason they are on the tape... she also said that they have since done some way better techno mixes of "hello", but she did not say if they had been released on promo or not... i would image so since some of you are hearing them on the radio... so, anyway, it was a great trip and Poe was cool and so was her band and crew once again... another happy Poe show to add to the list. - -rusty you can reach rusty at: agentorange2@juno.com or rusty@poe.org see my link's page on the web: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Palms/5226/ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Apr 1997 21:00:39 PDT From: "Matthew Southall" Subject: P(*)E stuff I keep hearing about all this P(*)E stuff that people have....AP t-shirts, AP jacket, AP toothbrushes (j/k).....where do you get this stuff??? I know i hardly ever post to the list, but hell, I'm new still, so gimmie a chance, OK? :) Anyway, I FINALLY got the Hello single today- it was pretty damn hard to find. I forgot how much i freakin love the "band version" of the song- the first thing I saw of POE on MTV that got me out there to buy her CD. I think i've listened to it like twenty times tonight while doing homework.. heh. When I looked at the back cover i was all... what the fuck, they are both marked band version, but the second track is the album version. Oh well, must be a misprint. Wow, this version has some mean guitar. Why oh why was i a nimrod and didn't hear of POE eariler, so I could of caught her live when she rolled through my neck of the woods- Northern California? Hey, that reminds me... anyone on this list FROM Northern California? I know theres a lot of you down south, but how bout the other "boring" half? So POE is going to work with her band on the next album? or so i hear? wow, its gonna ROCK! I'm sure this question has been asked a gazillion times, but when is it expected to come out? I'm guessing it's probably going to be around the time of Alanis's & Bjorks next release(s)- early '98... I guess I'll just have to get that Batman & Robin soundtrack in the meantime :) ok, i think i'll go to poe.org chat or something. I arrived at the Howlin' Wolf around 4:30pm, and was just in time to catch soundcheck. Poe greeted me with a great hug, I had not spoken to her since last fall. She has the most incredible memory. I confused her for just moment because I've shaved my hair since then. Soundcheck consisted of the new "Batman" song, beautiful girl (requested by Cameron), and a few others. It was like watching an artist paint, as Poe would instruct everyone to play arrangements exactly how she wanted. After soundcheck, Poe sat down, had dinner and talked about several different topics. I was the only AP at the show, so I enjoyed incredible access to our fearless leader. I tried to mention to her the latest goings-on on the AP list. She loved the Rosie O' show idea, so keep e-mailing your requests to the show to have Poe on. We also talked about the "Batman" soundtrack. She seemed very frustrated with the whole process of the suits picking the songs. Who can blame her! There should be no question of using the song. She also was recovering from a nasty throat problem. This almost kept the San Antonio show from happening, but she said the crowd was so great, (they brought her home-made soup) she was not about to cancel. We also talked about her hobby of painting her nails (I gave her a photo that shows her nails--look for on my web site soon). Girls, support the companies that support Poe (Hard Candy & Urban Decay nail polish). Okay, we (my friend from NO and fellow worker at the radio station, Mehgan) went to the French Quarter and Poe went to the bus. Several Tequila drinks later, we were back at the Howlin' Wolf. Agnus Gooch was just finishing, so I made my way down to the stage. Poe and Billy were accommodating. They let me photograph the show, so look for new and old Poe photos on my web page soon http://pcola.gulf.net/~peter I love "How Long"!!!!!! Poe owned the crowd, moshing, stage diving (It was becoming difficult to shoot pictures with people landing on me). She brought up girls during "Beautiful Girl." I won't give you the blow-by-blow, but it was a great show. Alright, for the dedicated who read this far. Poe had a special guest at the show,,,Trent Reznor. He had been in the studio, took a break to come see Poe. They spent about 20 minutes hanging backstage. About an hour after the show, we said our good-byes. Thanks for reading about my day of Poe. If you have any questions, let me know. Peter ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V2 #126 ***********************************
