[I know that NV and AZ are not technically West Coast states...sue me :)] I would prefer that we not get into regional groups by city until we have a bit more organization going on. Otherwise, we will get confusing. Just my opinion...but let's concentrate on *regions* for now. If you think you are not on the wcap list email me (rogerk@mbay.net) or (badkitty@toetag.com) privately. POE played at the VARSITY (an old theater-transformed into a college nightclub). Her guest was the new band Agnes Gooch, but enough about them, lets get to POE. The Monday night concert drew a hugh crowd, but I made sure I had plenty of time to get as close to the stage as possible. I was pushed up against the railing about 4 feet from her mike stand, that is, until she threw it over into the drum set. Being 6'1" tall has its advantages. Every time she came to my side of the stage, my hand was the closest to her. She grabbed and held it eight times, and after that, I lost count. I'm sure it was in the neighborhood of 15 though. I can't even begin to explain the feeling. Sometimes she would put one foot on the railing in front of me and one foot on the stage. When she did that and was holding my hand, she would put her weight on me in order to lean out over the crowd. She had six bottles of water, which she threw out over the crowd after she took a sip or two. We were all quite happy with that, being as hot as it was. I caught one of the bottles that had just a sip or two of water left in them after she drenched the crowd. It was her sound guy's birthday, and she brought a cake out onto the stage and got everyone to sing happy birthday to him. When it was over, she blew out the candles, took a bite of cake, and told us she believed in sharing. I couldn't see where the cake landed, because it went way over my head. Althought I wouldn't have minded being the target. She took two stage dives during the concert, and I caught her leg on one of them. That was great. When she finally got back on stage, She told us, "Good catch you guys!" All of the songs rocked, and I had a great time. Did anyone else get to see her at the Varsity, Monday night. If so, I'd love to hear from you. - -Brandon- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Apr 1997 10:27:49 -0700 From: Clay Ver Valen Subject: RE: NRPR: Windows Startup Picture- vgalogo.rle Yeah, I can help. I've got the answer at home though, so I can't send it to you till tomorrow. If I remember correctly, I saw the answer in a book entitled "Windows 3.1 Secrets." For those of you using Win95, it is really simple. Create a 320x400 (width x height) bitmap, call it logo.sys, and place it in the root of your boot drive (usually C:). IMPORTANT!!! => This is not a supported modification of Windows. Just because I work there doesn't mean that Microsoft advocates or will support this modification. For that matter, I won't support this modification. What all this means is that if you do this you do this, you do it at YOUR OWN RISK. _________________________________ Clay Ver Valen Technical Lead, San Francisco Sidewalk 415-547-4325 (voice) 415-547-4343 (fax) ---------- From: Ed [SMTP:ehunsing@bgsm.edu] Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 1997 5:47 PM To: angry-psychos@smoe.org Subject: NRPR: Windows Startup Picture- vgalogo.rle Ok.. That would Trigger Happy Jack was released as a maxi-5 CD single, but I think it only had a short life. Angry Johnny can only be found as promos, but I saw at CDUniverse that there is an import CD.
