I've liked her ever since but didn't get around to buying the album until about September or October of 1996, and I have to say, Hello rocks! I also listen to Cranberries, Garbage, Cardigans, Jewel, Veruca Salt, Bush, Babes in Toyland, and Hole. I was at Wal-Mart the other day and they always have a display where you can watch new videos from certain artists. I saw a clip from Hello and was surprised to see that the song was rerecorded. I loved the new version, does anyone know where I can find it on CD???? I can't find any of her stuff except the album, and I can find bootlegs easier than that. Also, does anyone know when she is coming back to Chicago?? I know she was here a while ago once or twice but I didn't know about it in enough time so I couldn't get tickets. Lost Highway Soundtrack---anybody who likes NIN or Reznor will really like this soundtrack. Well, I found a small, but interesting, article about POE in a local music magazine here in St. Louis called "Night Times". The issue is from January '97 and it basically talks about her concert here on December 7. So, here it is: Vegas Bound... This female's lyrics are far more pissed off and creatively diverse than "Ms. Thing" ever imagined. Poe, in her lullabye voice, has a way of coercing you to sing along and condone her warped and twisted mind. Sweet, soulful lyrics integrate with exuberant musical sound, moving from acoustic ballad to blithesome swing-jazz to dynamic guitar to nebulous dance beats. The music runs from light to dark, from giddy high to tragic core. Although there is a bitter, dark edge to many of her songs, Poe creates illusion of happiness and power in the feel of the music.
