Hi there! My name is Lisa, I`m 18 and fairly new to the angry psychos-list; I just thought I should introduce myself; I live in Kristiansund, Norway...way, way up in the north. I first heard Poe whilst..hrm, well, whilst washing my hair, actually. It was sometime last summer, probably July, and the song was a remix of "Hello", being played on my favorite radiostation. I loved it and after a *very* long search I managed to get hold of her album(remember, this is Norway..it`s not very easy to get hold of anything cool around here..). Anyway, I have "Hello" now and I`ve almost played it to pieces... My musical tastes are varied; I listen to all kinds of stuff, but my faves(`cept Poe) are: Marilyn Manson(am I gonna get any shit for this..?), NIN, garbage, Tori Amos, the Sneaker Pimps, Fiona Apple and..and..well, the list goes on and on, I don`t wanna take up more space. So, that`s it, then. Now we have been properly introduced. ******Lisa***** ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Feb 1997 09:24:12 -0700 From: Jacob Daniel Schimming Subject: wrong idea I think people have the wrong idea here. I believe that the intent for the angry-psychos mailing list was primarily to talk about Poe stuff...but also to meet new people who have common interests. The guidelines pretty much say (sorry that this is redundant for those of you who are familiar with the guidelines) that if you post publicly something not related to Poe, you just put NPR (not poe related) somewhere in the subject. If someone doesn't want to read about anything other than Poe, they can skip those. And if some sort of an email "conversation" develops then it should probably be shifted to private email rather than using the mailing list. On the other hand, the list is made up of the people who post...and so it seems that the people who post determine what goes up since no one edits or prevents letters from being posted. *shrug* - -Julia ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Feb 1997 10:37:49 -0800 From: COCKYŽ Subject: Re: wrong idea In business you would write a mission statement as to what the goals of the business were. The correct answer of course is that God is everywhere and she felt that as they were all from good Catholic families, they should know the answer to this basic question. Well only one child raised his hand, so the Nun checked her seating chart and said, allright Johnny, where is God? To which he promptly replied, Sister, God's in my bathroom! The Nun told him that was incoerrect and that each child should go home and ask their parents. The following day, she again asked who could tell her where is God? Again, only little Johnny raised his hand. When he stood up to answer, he stated confidently that Sister, God's in my bathroom! The Nun scolded him and the others for not having the answer and sent them home to ask their parents again. On the third day of school, she asked the question once again. This time several children volunteered various answers, none of which were correct. There was little Johnny, frantically waving his hand and asking to be called on. When asked the question, he once more that God is in my bathroom. This time the Numn became angry and ordered him to stay after school. As this was his first experience with school, he was very upset and began to cry. This softened the Nun's heart and she said Johnny, I don't want to punish you, but that's a very bad thing to say. Why do you insist that God's in your bathroom of all places? As he wiped a tear from his eye, he sobbed out the answer: Well Sister, every morning when I get up for school, my father storms up and down the hall, yelling God...are you STILL in there? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Feb 1997 19:02:51 -0500 (EST) From: MoonLily1@aol.com Subject: Re: angry-psychos-digest V2 #65 Please take me off the mailing list, I get way too much mail that people actually cant email me anymore. The first song he played was "Angry Johnny". I remember I started cracking up when I first heard her sing "I wanna kill you, I wanna blow you..." I didn't think "away" was going to come after that. After that night, I went out and bought her CD. I was very impressed with her vocal stylings, going from sad and mellow ("Fly Away") to angry and harsh ("Angry Johnny"). My other favorites are: Ruby, Garbage, Fem2Fem, Ke, Tori Amos (she a goddess), Republica, Sarah McLachlan, Luscious Jackson, and Leah Andreone. That is about it...
