I was a subscriber to this list before it existed, but have rarely posted, if at all. I had a very wee part in birthing this list. =) I have found on my countless travels in list-land that the following recipe for posting is virtually guaranteed to make posts reader-friendly: Compose: write your post exactly the way you want to. Delete: delete it. Compose: write it again. keep in mind that several hundred people will read it and, correctly or not, judge you accordingly. be polite and intelligent. =) Post: post it! =) Its a few more keystrokes, but does wonders to the quality of posts. And yes, I used the recipe when writing this. =) =) Love~Life! Crunch! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jan 1997 02:08:17 -0600 (CST) From: Tony Subject: ??POE in CD-ROM Magazine?? Hello! A couple of weeks ago someone posted something about POE being in one of those CD-ROM magazines. I've been looking at different ones, but none of them have POE included. So, if anyone can tell me what magazine and what issue has POE in it, I would greatly appreciate it. Please reply via private e-mail. Thank ya. (is that how i should put it?) anyway, if you are in the southeast us, please contact me so i can put together a list for possible get together's, etc. also, i have been seeing alot of posts about get togethers... it would be too cool if we could get poe to do what jewel did and put on a free concert for us... we would have to find and rent the venue, and we would all have to get there some how... i know that the tori amos group, "really deep thoughts" has a get together once a year in october and call it "octorifest"... :) but, again, everyone who wanted to go who didn't live there would have to get to that city some how.... maybe we could have it at the end of july and lyza could pick us all up on her ap tour! :) we would have to rent a bus... AHAHAHAH... this getting scary even thinking baout that! so, the question is... are we all that deticated to not only poe, but this list? - -rusty you can reach rusty at: agentorange2@juno.com or agentorange@mindspring.com "you fucked with my head, you fucked with the dead, now i'm gonna fuck with you" -S.B.Hawkins there are some pictures i took of Poe at various poe sites... wanna see? just ask. please help support R.A.I.N.N.: http://www.sprynet.com/sprynet/xenomorph/rainn.htm "excuse me but can i be you for awhile..." -Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jan 1997 11:42:40 -0500 (EST) From: ilmortal Subject: Re: aps in Buffalo Ya it was. Right now I am a freshman at Penn State (University Park campus) studying Chemical Engineering. I am originally from Munhall, a small town 20 south of Pittsburgh. The other things that I love besides Poe are soccer, hockey, and music in general. I intend to start working for WKPS, one of PSU's radio stations. If you want to talk to me privately, feel free to email me. Just one question before I go, does anyone know about any upcoming concerts in either the State College or Pittsburgh areas, not just Poe, but other cool alternative shows. The advertisement for smaller shows like Poe really suck at PSU and I even missed a free concert by her on campus during Fall '96 orientation. Oh well! Hope to talk to you soon!! I guess it's called "A Rose is a Rose" and I don't remember any lyrics beyond "Jezebel, from Israel" which is in it alot and "A rose is a rose is a rose is a rose, said my good friend Gertrude Stein" which is the refrain, I think. Snapping along is a must. After this song one of the kids asked "Who's Jezebel?" to which Poe responded, "Jezebel is...a part of every woman" or something like that. Well, hope this helps. Did you get permission from Poe to tape the >concerts??? >Thanks so much!!! >-Kristi *Starr* > kristi (and other ap's)- cool... i'll be looking for it... no, we did not need to get permission from poe because these shows were aired on the radio... recorded for radio or what have you... the 99x show was recorded specifically for radio.. i was there, there were about 30 people in a recording studio with her and her band... pretty cool! as for me and the other angry-psychos distributing tapes of these shows, oh yeah - it is totally illegal becuase it was not cleared with the radio station or broadcast company.... but, we can not get in trouble because we are not making profit from this.. if we were we would be in big trouble! and, btw... poe knows we are doing this.. she has a copy herself! (she rules!) now, as for the next tape tree.... it will include mixes that were released over seas... we have tried to steer away from putting released stuff on the tapes, but everyone is having a hard time even locating them, so we took action (and, one of the imports is now out of print)... and, one of the shows for the next tape tree is a bootleg, recorded with out permission from anybody.... (however, poe once told some of us that if we tape any of her shows, she wants a copy)... so, i don't think she would care if her other hard-core fans got a copy too. but, again, as long as we are not making any profit from distributing these tapes, nothing major will happen. - -rusty you can reach rusty at: agentorange2@juno.com or agentorange@mindspring.com "you fucked with my head, you fucked with the dead, now i'm gonna fuck with you" -S.B.Hawkins there are some pictures i took of Poe at various poe sites... wanna see? just ask. please help support R.A.I.N.N.: http://www.sprynet.com/sprynet/xenomorph/rainn.htm "excuse me but can i be you for awhile..." -Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jan 1997 22:12:15 -0500 (EST) From: Flickergrl@aol.com Subject: private poe show. well everyone, i live in boca raton, FL. perfect vacation spot so everyone is invited here. and there's a wicked nice hotel across the street from mi casa.
