My first concert was The Police. It was the Syncronicity tour. My mom actually waited in the Sear's Ticket Master line that Morning for me and my friends for 5 hours getting the tickets while I was in school. God, I think that was Freshman year in High School, so that would have to be '83. Anyway, after that...it was concert city. Needless to say, my mom NEVER waited again. What a mom though, huh!? That was the last concert the Police ever played together. I've seen a lot of "last concerts" in my day. Billy Idol in his prime, David Bowie playing all his greatest old tunes, the Pretenders playing all their old great stuff. Of course, one cool thing I learned from Biology is that plants do try to kill each other by any means necessary. Pine trees that stand next to each other will try anything to get rid of its neighbor--e.g. root in its territory, grow so that it gets all of the sun, plus there have been cases where the pine needles have emmitted toxins. I guess it's just a general rule of "survival of the fittest". Lawrence ************************************************************************ Lawrence J. No email addressed was found on this guy (assumption). I'm sure these hacker types cover there tracks very well. It really deflates the heart but excites the mind. I have a certain element of pride in the fact that a hacker had enough passion (albeit negative) to want to affect POE's life. Unfortunately we were also victims. Sorry POE.... Jarrod inthenameoflove@poe.org P.S. I counted..... 134 people were at the chat last night. Thanks!!! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Jan 1997 13:39:31 -0600 (CST) From: "Joseph H. Goforth" Subject: Re: *TAN* *Not Poe Related* *People with little time don't read This* Where the hell did you get this stuff, pal? I grew up on a cattle farm..raised chickens and even had a garden every year. Now stop throwing out these ridiculous lies of mistreatment of animals....that happens to maybe 2% of the meat you eat....2%! Don't try and tell me about the chicken industry...I live smack dab in the middle of Tyson's territory...Don tyson's headquarters is no more than a half our from here...if anything those chickens are put on a pedestal w/more food than they could ever dream of. I don't agree w/the use of the steriods that some farmers use to make the chickens bigger...but that is starting to decline as more exposure of the problem arises. I would love to know where in God's name you got these stories. Every since I can remember, my family has raised cattle and some goats. Never have they been in cages or locked up other than in fenced enclosures for their own protection....I think you should worry more about the way humans are mistreating other humans before you worry about something so insignificant as animal cruelty. So are all christians bad because God had moses sacrifice a cow after he returned from bringing the commandments down and the people were worshipping an idol? Wouldn't that have been animal "cruelty"? You militant vegatarians out there need to think about this....if eating animal flesh was bad...wouldn't it have been condemned by God as a sin? Does the Pope eat animal flesh? Just think about this before you start off on the animal rights crap........ I have my suspicions that the hackers (it looked like there were actually 3 on there) ARE on the mailing list and they probably have @poe.org addresses just for kicks. And, believe me, if they want to know information, they can probably get it. > Did anyone ever find out that jerk's email address? Jarrod, wasn't there > any way to trace the source? There has to be some way to cut jerks off! Hackers do like to cover their tracks, actually it's more of a necessity. If you read, the whole internet network in the North-Western region got totally shut down because of the hackers. They traced it all the way to a small ISP in British Columbia, but that's as far as the authorities could go.
