(i prefer not to take checks, as it takes 2 weeks for them to clear, and i just don't have that kind of time... and, i'm sure you'd want your tape asap) i desiged a cover for this tape, which will be included... what is on the tape: side one - "in concert - new rock" show #96-35 (direct from cd, not FM) broadcast week of august 26, 1996 1. that day 2. choking the cherry 3. hello 4. fly away 5. dolphin 6. beautiful girl 7. angry johnny 8. trigger happy jack 9. hello (band version) [previously unreleased] side two - "live x" recorded for WNNX (99X) Atlanta march 31, 1996 1. that day 2. how long 3. angry johnny 4. trigger happy jack 5. fly away 6. beautiful girl 7. trigger happy jack (acoustic version) 8. angry johnny (band version) 106.3 The Edge Phoenix, AZ january 12, 1996 9. interview [the ever so famous jarrod - www.poe.org - interviews her!] so, if you want this tape, just do what is outlined above and mail your $4 to me at: rusty p.o. box 468301 atlanta, ga 31146 also, when sending your $4, please include the following inside the envelope: your name your snail mail address your email address and a copy of this email if possible i am going to go ahead and start dubbing some copies this weekend, as i know of about 3 people who already asked for them... this should be a quick turn-around, since i have mapped it out so simple. hope to hear from you all soon! - -rusty you can reach rusty at: agentorange2@juno.com or agentorange@mindspring.com come see me (& poe) and the pictures i took of her: http://www.enter.net/~husselman/poe.html please help support R.A.I.N.N.: http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/xenomorph/rainn.htm ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jan 1997 00:52:00 -0800 From: "J.Beadle" Subject: Alexa update. . . Well My sister is doing better, and isn't sick like she should be. I found a little book she might like if she was a year or two older, by an 8 year old who had cancer (or cansur, as he spells it). I'm taking adavantage of the huge library, and finding a wealth of info. Alexa is acting normal, and is starting to go around the hospital (with our help, of course). She is crying once and a while, and saying she wants to go home, but she is REALLY strong (emotionally wise) for a two year old with leukemia. She takes the medicine, she takes the check-ups, but of course she does complain whenever a stranger comes into the room (doctors, nurses. . .) . A good sign for us was when a nurse asked what type she had, and my dad replied ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), and she did a little jig. She's being bombarded with presents, and gets to see a lot of relatives from a far (Farthest so far is Wilmar, MN Closest being La Crosse). I'll let you know more as it comes, thanks for all your support. - -Landon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jan 1997 01:12:14 -0600 (CST) From: jbeu@macalester.edu Subject: Tree stuff and Johnny Lassman Hey all... Sorry about posting this to the whole group, but I just wanted to get in contact with my leaves one more time. Only 3 of my leaves ever contacted me, and I want to spread this great tape around as much as possible. Also, Rusty's offer stands with me too. I have a copy, and, since I was a branch, I have the very stylish inserts also. Just e-mail me and tell me that you want the tape. On another note, there was a CD put out here (Minneapolis/St. Paul) from the big "alternative" station, 93.7. There is a Poe track on there, a very wierd version of Angry Johnny in which she repeatedly refers to Johnny Lassman (sorry for possible spelling). Who is this guy? Any clue... Jarrod? If you want a copy of the CD (w/No Doubt, Bush, Dishwalla, Blind Melon, some local bands, and some comedy bits from the morning show) e-mail me and I can get that to you too. About $10 for the CD plus shipping. Not to turn this into a Bowie thread, but someone asked how the show went. Well, all I can say is wow. WOW. David Bowie was incredible, as always the consummate performer. Lou Reed was great, as was Frank Black and Robert Smith. Billy Corgan stayed through most of the entire set, and Foo Fighters and Sonic Youth were good. Bowie played nearly all of his more popular songs. He topped it all off with Space Oddity. How great is that? Towards the end he came out with a cake and everyone sang Happry Birthday to him. The entire show was being taped, and I think it is supposed to be aired sometime on HBO soon. I had to bail early > Late :) Does everyone know where I live now??? ;P No really, that's probably the most chatting I've ever done, IRL or in any chat room I've ever been in. Looking forward to Poe next week...be nice to us less talkative people that will be there ;D In the new issue of Rolling Stone, with Marilyn Manson's face on the cover, in one of those music club ads, is the picture of Poe, with her hair in a ponytail, the whole pic colored verde...remember kids, don't buy from those types of music clubs, they rip off the artists! ;) But she does get exposure at least...too bad it doesn't work right, CDs are too freakin expensive...ok from one rant to another, my Rolling Stone better come soon, I just renewed my subscription, and my grandfather better not hide it like he did with the X-Files one...I could rant about Rolling Stone itself right now but I'm gonna shut up... If I get around to it, I'm going to be putting lyrics to rant songs on my site, so maybe you'll all be spared from this later. Meantime, everyone go look at my Poe discography again--the address for Poe/Modern Records has changed! And it tells you what damn city and state I live in! (Why don't you all go bug MonkeyMan for my age, like you all bugged me about his age? ::) OK bye everybodeee! To make things easier for your dubber since they may be doing more than one tape, send a self addressed and stamped bubble mailer to your dubber. The easiest I have found is taking the bubble mailer and tape to the post office and have them tell you how many stamps to put on, then just put stamps on the bubble mailer & then fold that up and put it into another envelope (which doesn't have to be a bubble mailer too) and mail it off to your dubber. Sorry to add that, but I will say when I did some taping for another list it took me at least an extra week if not two to get tapes off to people who just sent me money cuz it is sometimes hard to get to the post office when it is open. Sorry if this was confusing, but that is how to get the tapes back Have a great night & weekend.
