Hello. There is an ad for POE in the November issue of SPIN magazine. It's the November issue with Gwen Stefani of No Doubt on the cover. You can find the picture towards the back of the magazine. It's a cool picture--it's worth checking out. See ya. There is a small, yet awesome picture of POE in the current issue of the women's magazine "MIRABELLA". It is the issue with actress Kyra Sedgewick on the cover. It is on page 68. The article doesn't mention POE. It just talks about being "cool" and how it helps your self empowerment. Talk to you all later! Probably the best choice, but it is far from my favorite song on the album. "That Day" is one of the most stirring rock songs I heard all year, but probably has too much of a layered sound (not to mention bad words) to get radio airplay. But I like this song more than any other on the disc, its jazz hooks and contemplative lyrics. I'm pretty suprised "Angry Johnny" did better than "Drive by a Go-go",since I think it's a much weaker song. But a bunch of guys in suits thought that song was better for the masses, so they started playing it a lot. Oh well... at least people went out and got the album when they heard it. "Hello" is better than "Angry Johnny" -- its mesmerizing in its trip-hoppiness. Love it. - -- Mark Miazga Michigan State University miazgama@pilot.msu.edu East Lansing, MI USA ------------------------------ From: "J.Beadle" Date: Fri, 25 Oct 1996 10:56:31 -0700 Subject: Re: POE'S Next Single (fwd) Mark Anthony Miazga wrote: > > > The next single will be Hello. > > Probably the best choice, but it is far from my favorite song on the album. > "That Day" is one of the most stirring rock songs I heard all year, but > probably has too much of a layered sound (not to mention bad words) to get > radio airplay. I think it was a good choice over TRIGGER HAPPY JACK, because I liked DRIVE BY A GO-GO better, but I wouldn't have bought the cd if I heard JUST it. - -Landon ------------------------------ From: madhattr@cobweb.net Date: Fri, 25 Oct 1996 14:57:18 -0700 Subject: rolling stone I know, I got mine yesterday and read it too. ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V1 #17 **********************************
