I just returned home from my third POE concert here in St. Louis. Where should I start??? Well, my friends and I got there at 5:00 and froze to death until 7:00 when they opened the doors to the venue (Mississippi Nights). Of course, I rushed up to the stage to get a prime spot. This show was a charity Christmas concert for a local modern rock radio station. There were four other bands who played before POE... They were Failure, Radio Iodine, Tracy Bonham, Tonic, and they saved the best for last... By the way, I got to meet Raven, a fellow ANGRY-PSYCHO. We were standing right next to each other and didn't even know it. So that was definately cool. As far as we knew we were the only ANGRY-PSYCHOS at the concert. Next is the set list for the show: THAT DAY CHOKIN' THE CHERRY HELLO FLY AWAY DOLPHIN BEAUTIFUL GIRL ANGRY JOHNNY PSYCHO GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER HOW LONG FINGERTIPS ??? (I have never heard the last song she performed) 'Speed Metal Jam' The version of FINGERTIPS was very mellow and had kind of jazzy sound to it. I am am totally clueless on what the last song she sang was. I know it was not 'Jane Says'. Also, she only sang one verse of 'Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer'. Throughout the show she constantly 'shook hands' with everyone with that awesome smile on her face. Plus, the night didn't go by without 2 stage dives. She had on a new POE shirt. It was black with the 'POE ball logo w/ her face in the star' picture. Except the rest of the POE ball/circle was orange flames! Very cool! As always, she put on an awesome and energetic show. Everyone was trying to get close to her and one girl even passed out!!! After the show I got Toby's (the gutarist) autograph. Then I left the venue and walked to the back of the club where her bus was. There were about 15 people out there getting autographs. I was thrilled that I would finally have the chance to talk with POE. She mentioned that she was sick, so she was talking to everybody through the tour bus's window where the driver's seat is. Well, I told her I was an ANGRY-PSYCHO and she said that "we rule"! She said she will be off during the month of January and she plans to 'interact' with us during her time off! I asked her when the video for "HELLO" would be out and she said soon, but she said she is having a *huge* fight with her record company about the video. She implied that it was stressing her out quite a bit. She said her brother shot a lot of live footage of POE and the record company doesn't want to use that. She said they want the style of the video to be R&B. I guess the record company doen't want to use the Band Version. She mentioned how she has been touring with her band for a long time now and she feels that's the version that should be used. She said record companies "Fuckin' suck sometimes." Also, last night I printed out almost all of the posts I have from the ANGRY-PSYCHOS list. I've saved every posting I've received since I've joined the list in October. I left the printouts in my car because I didn't know for sure how I could get them to her. Well, I told her that I had them in my car and she said she would love to see them. So, I ran and got them and gave them to her. She was thrilled to have them! She said thanks for the "midnight reading." So, now she knows exactly what we're all about, and I'm sure she'll be flattered to read all of the wondeful discussions and things that we've said about her! After signing autographs and talking for about 10 minutes she said she was going to get some rest. She said bye and she mentioned more than once that the "ANGRY-PSYCHOS RULE". Also, she signed my 'Trigger Happy Jack' CD-single cover. She wrote "ANGRY-PSYCHOS RULES!" on it with a heart and her name. I will try to get that scanned and posted somewhere, somehow, soon. So, that was my wonderful night. Everything I heard about the way POE treats her fans was true! What a night! POE RULES! HER BAND RULES! THE ANGRY-PSYCHOS RULE! She did give my friend her water bottle (she didn't throw it like usual, she just handed it to him) and Cam gave me a VERY used drum stick. Afterwards, we were hanging out at her bus and she gave my friend and I a ring as a present because we gave her a present.
