Your list-owner is Anthony Amato. If you have any questions, he can be contacted at owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org. 2. SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION The automated mailing list manager Majordomo is serving the mailing list. This is an unmoderated discussion list, currently available as loose mail or in digest form and is limited to subscribers only. If you don't expect to read your mail on a regular basis you should consider subscribing to the digest form of the list. If mail from your address bounces consistently, you will either be removed from the list after a few days of bouncing, or be moved to the digest for a few days, and then be removed from the digest if the problem doesn't clear up. *QUERIES* about this mailing list (e.g. how to subscribe, unsubscribe, change mailing addresses, or find out who is on this list) can be sent to majordomo@smoe.org with "help" as the body of the message. *TO SUBSCRIBE* to the list, just send a message to angry-psychos-request@smoe.org with "subscribe" as the body of the message. Then Majordomo will then add you to the list at whatever account you mailed it from. A digest version is available. Instead of getting each message individually, you get a large compilation message each night. *THE DIGEST* is available by sending a message to majordomo@smoe.org with "subscribe angry-psychos-digest" in the body of the message. *TO POST* messages to the list, just send mail to angry-psychos@smoe.org. *TO UNSUBSCRIBE* from the list, send a message to angry-psychos-request@smoe.org with "unsubscribe" as the body of your message -OR- send a message to angry-psychos-digest-request@smoe.org with "unsubscribe" as the body of your message, if you are on the digest. *TO SWITCH TO DIGEST MAIL FORM,* send a message to "majordomo@smoe.org" with the following three lines in the BODY of the message: unsubscribe angry-psychos subscribe angry-psychos-digest end *ARCHIVES* If you're interested in past Angry Psychos posts, a complete set of daily digests are available through the WWW from http://www.smoe.org/lists/angry-psychos/. 3. LIST PURPOSE AND GENERAL RULES [IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!] The Unofficial Poe Mailing List is not a newsletter or a fanzine. The purpose of the list is to disseminate information about Poe, her music, concerts, live appearances, TV/radio gigs, press/articles/etc., or if you're trying to find someone with tickets to a particular show, or someone who taped something, use it for that as well. We need your posts to keep this mailing list going!!! The Angry Psychos is not moderated and there is no editor to approve postings made to the list. However, we hope that the mailing list subscribers will self-moderate their contributions to the list so as to create and maintain a high-quality mailing list. Below are some guidelines for the Angry Psychos. Adherence to these guidelines is not strictly regulated, but the list-owner will enforce them should the need arise. Please try to the follow basic netiquette: * Please try to keep the discussion on the list confined to that revolving around Poe, her band, her music, etc. For example, while you may love Alanis Morissette and want to talk about her all the time, most members of the list don't really care since (1) it's not related to Poe and (2) she has her own mailing list. Posts that do not directly pertain to either Poe or her work, i.e. debate on vegetarianism, religion, etc., should not be discussed directly on the Angry Psychos. We are not saying that these topics should never be mentioned or discussed, since they obviously do relate to Poe and her music, only that such discussions should be limited to how these topics relate to Poe rather than general discussions of the issues. Such general discussions mentioned above should only take place via PRIVATE e-mails and NOT sent to the list. * Any non-Poe posts should be prefixed with NPR(No Poe Relation) in the Subject-line. * Absolutely no "me too" posts. If you feel you must express agreement with someone, email him or her PRIVATELY and tell them. Common sense should dictate whether the reply should be posted to the mailing list or back to the postee, usually not to both. Also, please cut the text of reply letters to include only text relevant to what you're writing about, i.e. don't quote 200 line message to just put "Me too" or a similar sentiment after the quotation, or don't just write a few lines at the top of the message above the quotation. I know this may have to do with your mail program, so please learn to use it appropriately. * No flaming, excessive use of profanity, bigotry, or other violations of other people's basic human rights. You have an opinion. So does everyone else. Sometimes these opinions do not jive. That happens. But that does not give you an excuse to flame someone and personally insult them. Corollary of the above: Publicly flaming or insulting someone by calling them a fag, freak, fucker, dumbass, etc., will result in you being asked to leave the list unless you agree not to engage in insulting other list members. * Chain e-mails should NEVER be sent to the mailing list. 4. STARTING POINTS Here are just a few websites to get you more familiar with Poe. Naturally, the fans do it best.
