It remains subject to a wide margin of error, not least because the samples are mainly from Europe and North America. The estimate suggests that about 15 billion trees are cut down annually and about 5 billion are planted. In the 12,000 years since the start of human agriculture, the number of trees worldwide has decreased by 46%. In suitable environments, such as the Daintree Rainforest in Queensland, or the mixed podocarp and broadleaf forest of Ulva Island, New Zealand, forest is the more-or-less stable climatic climax community at the end of a plant succession, where open areas such as grassland are colonised by taller plants, which in turn give way to trees that eventually form a forest canopy. Conifers in the Swabian alps In cool temperate regions, conifers often predominate; a widely distributed climax community in the far north of the northern hemisphere is moist taiga or northern coniferous forest (also called boreal forest). Taiga is the world's largest land biome, forming 29% of the world's forest cover. The long cold winter of the far north is unsuitable for plant growth and trees must grow rapidly in the short summer season when the temperature rises and the days are long. Light is very limited under their dense cover and there may be little plant life on the forest floor, although fungi may abound. Similar woodland is found on mountains where the altitude causes the average temperature to be lower thus reducing the length of the growing season. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2022 06:15:47 -0500 From: "Costco Shopper Gift Card Chance" Subject: Leave your feedback and you could WIN! Together, Mahadev and Shiv, along with others in the "Department," take on underworld don Sawatya (Vijay Raaz) and his gang. Sawatya, in spite of many exhortations by his number two, D.K. There is also the gangster-turned-minister, Sarjerao Gaikwad (Amitabh Bachchan), who takes Shiv under his wing after Shiv saves his life at a public rally. Mahadev warns Shiv that Sarjerao is just using him. After an inevitable turn of events, it is exposed that Mahadev is working for Mohammad Ghouri, who is an underworld don, and is, at the ganglordbs behest, finishing off Sawatyabs gang. As he grows arrogant with the city starting to embrace him for the first time in his career, an alien symbiote attaches itself to Peter's costume and influences his behavior for the worse. Maguire said he relished the opportunity to play a less timid Peter in this film. Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson: Peter Parker's girlfriend and a Broadway actress, whom he has loved since childhood. Mary Jane has a string of bad luck in the film, reminiscent of Peter's misfortune in Spider-Man 2, struggling in her career because of negative reviews and losing her friend when the symbiote takes him over. James Franco as Harry Osborn / New Goblin: The son of Norman Osborn, and Peter Parker's best friend, who believes Spider-Man murdered his father. After learning Peter is Spider-Man and that Norman was the Green Goblin, Harry becomes the New Goblin to battle his former friend directly. "Villains with a conscience have this sad realization of who they are, and the monster they've become b there's a sense of regret. So at the end of these movies there's a dramatic resonance that really stays with the audience." bThomas Haden Church on Sandman Thomas Haden Church as Flint Marko / Sandman: A small-time thug who has a wife and sick daughter, for whom he steals money to help get the treatment to cure her. He transforms into the Sandman following a freak accident and incurs Peter's wrath when Peter learns he was his Uncle Ben's true killer. Church was approached for Sandman because of his award-winning performance in the film Sideways, and accepted the role despite the lack of a script at the time. The film's Sandman possesses sympathy similarly exhibited by Lon Chaney Jr. in his portrayals of misunderstood creatures, as well as Frankenstein's monster, the Golem, and Andy Serkis' portrayals of Gollum and King Kong. Church worked out for sixteen months to improve his physique for the role, gaining 28 pounds of muscle and losing ten pounds of fat. Church reprises the role again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Topher Grace as Edward "Eddie" Brock Jr. / Venom: Peter's rival at the Daily Bugle. He is exposed by Peter for creating a fake incriminating image of Spider-Man, and leaps at the opportunity to exact his revenge when he bonds with an extraterrestrial symbiote. Grace had impressed the producers with his performance in the film In Good Company. A big comic book fan who read the first Venom stories as a boy, Grace spent six months working out to prepare for the role, gaining twenty-four pounds of muscle. He approached the character as someone under the influence, similar to an alcoholic or drug addict, and interpreted him as having a bad childhood, which is the key difference between him and Peter. Grace found his costume unpleasant, as it had to be constantly smeared to give a liquid-like feel. The costume took an hour to put on, though prosthetics took four hours to apply. Grace also wore fangs, which bruised his gums. Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy: Peter's lab partner. He asks her out to embarrass Mary Jane when possessed by the symbiote. Howard said the challenge of playing the role was in reminding many fans of the good-natured character who was Peter's first love in the comics, yet was "the other woman" in the film. Howard strived to create a sense that Gwen could potentially be a future girlfriend for him, and that, "I was not acting like some kind of man-stea ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2022 07:17:39 -0500 From: "Mask Wearers" Subject: Never Wear Masks With THIS (scary) Never Wear Masks With THIS (scary) http://smartsnakepro.us/6Atqymjb7xVRQejKKJEx0OPxAv8QgSrSpzzAyc8PL_wQiKpzow http://smartsnakepro.us/0iU5zN9Vb0kY_X1ECmEqp8I2GvuOUi7YqOOxVXi6rLINGMTWhw ate to a state convention to discuss possible revisions to the United States Constitution. In the next two years, he served as a delegate to a state constitutional convention and won election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. As a public official, he aligned with Anti-Federalists and spent much of his time in the state and national capital of Philadelphia. His service on the Ways and Means Committee earned him a strong reputation as an expert in finance and taxation. Gallatin won election to the United States Senate in early 1793, and he took his seat in December of that year. He quickly emerged as a prominent opponent of Alexander Hamilton's economic program, but was declared ineligible for a seat in the Senate in February 1794 because he had not been a citizen for the required nine years prior to election. The dispute itself had important ramifications. At the time, the Senate held closed sessions. However, with the American Revolution only a decade ended, the senators were leery of anything which might hint that they intended to establish an aristocracy, so they opened up their chamber for the first time for the debate over whether to unseat Gallatin. Soon after, open sessions became standard procedure for the Senate. Whiskey Rebellion Gallatin had strongly opposed the 1791 establishment of an excise tax on whiskey, as whiskey trade and production constituted an important part of the Western economy. In 1794, after Gallatin had been removed from the Senate and returned to Friendship Hill, the Whiskey Rebellion broke out among disgruntled farmers opposed to the federal collection of the whiskey tax. Gallatin did not join in the rebellion, but criticized the military response of the President George Washington's administration as an overreaction. Gallatin helped persuade many of the angered farmers to end the rebellion, urging them to accept that "if any one part of the Union are suffered to oppose by force the determination of the whole, there is an end to government itself and of course to the Union." The rebellion collapsed as the army moved near, and there was no fighting.[citation needed] House of Representatives In the aftermath of the Whiskey Rebellion, Gallatin won electi ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2022 05:00:54 -0500 From: "Ace Hardware Opinion Requested" Subject: Leave your feedback and you could WIN! It usually grows in aggregations, forming mats across the rock surface, but occasionally occurs as individual zooids. When crowded together, the zooids are cylindrical, 20 to 25 mm (0.8 to 1.0 in) tall and half as wide. Each individual has the two circular siphons near the apex, the buccal siphon being slightly larger than the exhalent siphon. The tunic is smooth, translucent and of fairly firm consistency, and the siphons tend to be a more intense colour than the rest of the tunic. Solitary individuals are smaller, depressed and unnoticeable. The tunic often has sand or silt deposited on it and sometimes supports epibionts. This species could be confused with Distomus variolosus or Stolonica socialis; the former is smaller, never more than 10 mm (0.4 in) tall, while the latter is a colonial species with a creeping stolon, and is orange or orangish-brown. Distribution and habitat This species is widely distributed in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. Its range includes the Baltic Sea, the English Channel, and northwestern France as far south as Quiberon, but it is absent from some localities and has a number of sub-populations. Colonies grows on rocks and boulders in areas with strong currents, and sometimes on the holdfasts of kelp, at depths from the lower shore down to a few metres. It favours shaded rocks, boulders, ledges and overhangs, and can form large populations in suitable habitats. Single zooids may be attached to stones or mollusc shells, alive or dead. At exceptionally low tides, it may be found under overhanging rocks on the lower shore. It is tolerant of low salinities and may be found in estu ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V14 #8402 **********************************************
