Jai is however convinced that he has set things right. The next day, in 2047, he wakes up to find himself in his 60-year-old self. He finds out that his mother had died and everyone gathered for her funeral. After the funeral, Jai is shocked that he and Diya are still divorced and that Diya had married art gallery owner Nikhil Khanna (Sagar Arya), her show opener, who enjoyed the love of Jai's mother and children. Reeling from this blow, Jai comes across the priest who had conducted his marriage, who warns him of the importance of time. Jai is given another opportunity to set things right as he goes back in 2023 on time to the same day, seven years after his marriage. This time, he sets things right. He spends time with his children, does his work well and makes Diya feel special, and attends her art exhibition. At the end of the day, Jai is a happy man. The residents of his kingdom are massacred, and the land is annexed by Lord Clive of the East India Company. The only survivors are his daughter, Zafira Baig, and general, Khudabaksh. Khudabaksh defeats the retreating enemy soldiers, and raises Zafira as his daughter, training her in the arts of warfare. The film then moves forward to various years. Firangi Mallah is a small-time thug who fools people for money. For instance, he once gives the location of a travelling landlord to some thugs and takes money for it. Then he gives the location of the same thugs to British soldiers for money. Firangi turns into a routine informer for the company. He finds solace with a dancer named Suraiyya. Firangi aims to be a European himself, and hence dresses up as one in many circumstances. Khudabaksh, now known as Azaad, leads a band of Indian bandits known as Thugs, who specialise in sea-based warfare and expose a serious challenge to Lord Clive and the expanding East India Company which had, by then, seized control of large parts of India. Lord Clive assigns his right-hand to counter the rising threat posed by the Thugs. Firangi is tasked by the East India Company to meet this challenge. He, with the help of his friend, manages to track Azaad at one of Azaad's attack on a British ship. He mistakenly saves Zafira's life by taking a bullet for her and Azaad takes him to their secret location for treatment. He appears before Azaad and asks him for recruiting him. Azaad accepts and begins to show confidence in him. When Azaad and his men make a stop to pick up muskets from a local ruler who supports their cause, Firangi betrays them and lets the East India Company know about their location. When the forces of the East India Company surround the warehouse where they are meeting with the ruler, Azaad lets Firangi know that he knows Firangi has sold him out but he still believes that Firangi has some good in him. After a short duel, Azaad is about to fall to his death when Firangi saves him. Azaad sees that Firangi is conflicted with his feelings about working for the East India Company and asks him to help with his cause. Azaad then asks him to protect Zafira and then sacrifices himself by confronting the East India Company forces alone so that Zafira and Firangi can escape. Firangi then goes to Clive for claiming reward and also trades the location of Azaad's remaining thugs. However, this is a trap as Zafira and Firangi attack the incoming ships. Clive, with the help of a prisoner, Bhure Lal attacks them. Indian nurse Maria calls the Indian Ambassador to Iraq at the Indian Embassy in Baghdad, informing them about the incident. 8 years after the events of the previous film, Tiger and Zoya are revealed to have been leading a peaceful life, in a secluded place, away from the prying eyes of both the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Officially declared dead in the files of their respective agencies, Tiger and Zoya are now married and have a son, Junior. The CIA gives RAW chairman Shenoy seven days of time to rescue the nurses, after which they will hold the airstrike. Shenoy feels that only Tiger would be able to rescue the nurses. Based on the clues available, Shenoy locates Tiger and Zoya in the snowy area of Innsbruck. Several days later, Tiger is briefed by Shenoy, who informs him about the abduction of the nurses. However, Shenoy only tells Tiger about the 25 Indian nurses held in Iraq. Though Tiger is reluctant at first, he sets to carry the mission after Zoya's insistence. Tiger travels to Syria and assembles his own gang of RAW members consisting of Azaan, an expert sniper, Namit, an experienced bomb disposer and Rakesh, a hacker. They reach an oil refinery controlled by Al-Amir Baghdawi (Sal Yusuf), ISC's second-in-command, but face difficulty after the arrival of Firdauz aka 'Tohbaan' ('snake' in Arabic), who checks the workers. One day, Tiger rescues Hassan (Jineet Rath), a child who is sent by Usman as a human bomb. That night, Tiger and his gang set a controlled explosion in the refinery and pretend to get burned so that they are taken to the hospital. En route, they are joined by ISI members Captain Abrar and Captain Javed. Zoya also comes along with Abrar and Javed and reveals to Tiger that along with 25 Indian nurses, 15 Pakistani nurses are held, hostage. Tiger then declares that ISI and RAW will work together to rescue the nurses. Meanwhile, Firdauz reveals that he is a secret RAW agent. They go to the hospital while Zoya leaves Tiger to first kill Baghdavi and his troops which she does with the help of some Syrian girls. At the hospital, Rakesh poisons the food. On the day of the airstrike, Usman's troops are food poisoned. Tiger fights the troops but finds Usman with Zoya, which causes him to surrender. Tiger is tortured in a gas chamber but later escapes and rescues the nurses. Azaan dies during the fight. As they escape, Firdauz and Karan, who is also a RAW member and Shenoy's most trusted person, crashes an oil tanker which kills ISC members. Tiger stabs and wounds Usman along with Sayem Noman in a fierce encounter and moves to rescue Zoya, who insists Tiger leave her for the sake of Junior. A missile, launched by American drones, blows the chamber. Tiger dresses everyone in the execution robes for a safe passage out of Ikrit. Javed raises Indian and Pakistani flags above the bus with the nurses keeping Azaan's promise while Firdauz takes Usman to a desert and shoots him. One year later, Shenoy is called by Tiger from Greece. A flashback shows that Tiger broke the chain and rescued Zoya and escaped, knowing that RAW and ISI wouldn't leave them if they returned with the nurses. It's revealed that Tiger and Zoya have adopted Hassan.
