However, because hunting forests often included significant areas of woodland, forest eventually came to connote woodland in general, regardless of the density of the trees.[citation needed] By the beginning of the Fourteenth Century, English texts used the word in all three of its senses: common, legal, and archaic. Other English words used to denote "an area with a high density of trees" are firth, frith, holt, weald, wold, wood, and woodland. Unlike forest, these are all derived from Old English and were not borrowed from another language. Some present classifications reserve woodland for denoting a locale with more open space between trees, and distinguish kinds of woodlands as open forests and closed forests premised on their crown covers. Finally, sylva (plural sylvae or, less classically, sylvas) is a peculiar English spelling of the Latin silva, denoting a "woodland", and has precedent in English, including its plural forms. While its use as a synonym of forest and as a Latinate word denoting a woodland may be admitted, in a specific technical sense it is restricted to denoting the species of trees that comprise the woodlands of a region, as in its sense in the subject of silviculture. The resorting to sylva in English indicates more precisely the denotation that use of forest intends. Evolutionary history The first known forests on Earth arose in the Late Devonian (approximately 380 million years ago), with the evolution of Archaeopteris. Archaeopteris was a plant that was both tree-like and fern-like, growing to 10 metres (33 ft) in height. Archaeopteris quickly spread throughout the world, from the equator to subpolar latitudes. Archaeopteris formed the first forest by being the first known species to cast shade due to its fronds and forming soil from its roots. Archaeopteris was deciduous, dropping its fronds onto the forest floor. The shade, soil, and forest duff from the dropped fronds created the first forest. The shed organic matter altered the freshwater environment, slowing it down and providing food. They soon become friends. Danny begins to narrate a tale about a diamond. This story is actually a story from his past. He tells her about a diamond that was discovered by a South Indian miner in 1836. The miner presented this diamond to his king. The king, in turn, then gifted the diamond to a British viceroy, but during a sea voyage to Britain, the viceroy's ship was sunk. After 100 years, a fisherman found the diamond and presented it to his master. The master broke it into three pieces and distributed it among his three sons. One son lost his diamond gambling, another lost him to a general, and the last brother lost it when he was murdered. In 1994, two of these three diamonds were again recovered and housed in a Belgium museum. Still, no one knew where the third diamond was until a Gujarati diamond dealer made a call to a South Africa high commission security manager named Shanaya (Shamita Shetty). But then the dealer also lost it when some goons stole the diamond from him in a preplanned car accident. The Uncle, who is a diamond thief, arranges for his goon Angad (Suniel Shetty) to steal two of the diamonds from the Belgium museum. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 May 2021 03:45:45 -0400 From: "Lowes Opinion Requested@secretgrowplus.us" Subject: Leave your feedback and you could WIN! Administrative definitions are based primarily upon the legal designations of land, and commonly bear little relationship to the vegetation growing on the land: land that is legally designated as a forest is defined as a forest even if no trees are growing on it. Land use definitions are based upon the primary purpose that the land serves. For example, a forest may be defined as any land that is used primarily for production of timber. Under such a land use definition, cleared roads or infrastructure within an area used for forestry, or areas within the region that have been cleared by harvesting, disease or fire are still considered forests even if they contain no trees. Land cover definitions define forests based upon the type and density of vegetation growing on the land. Such definitions typically define a forest as an area growing trees above some threshold. These thresholds are typically the number of trees per area (density), the area of ground under the tree canopy (canopy cover) or the section of land that is occupied by the cross-section of tree trunks (basal area). Under such land cover definitions, an area of land can only be known as forest if it is growing trees. Areas that fail to meet the land cover definition may be still included under while immature trees are establishing if they are expected to meet the definition at maturity. Under land use definitions, there is considerable variation on where the cutoff points are between a forest, woodland, and savanna. Under some definitions, forests require very high levels of tree canopy cover, from 60% to 100%, excluding savannas and woodlands in which trees have a lower canopy cover. Other definitions consider savan ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 May 2021 06:10:16 -0400 From: "Professional Recognition" Subject: Youâve Been Nominated by Whoâs Who⦠Youbve Been Nominated by Whobs Whob& http://bloodpressure.buzz/48YPFqhtH4PF-Zbwfe5ExApBFxT49wtLXKU6vG9tfMmjSsNx http://bloodpressure.buzz/bwmcv_xAA_pNFE3dVmfitunZIxSSSv5W3LfCld0xnA_cEfHJ iomass has decreased slightly since 1990 but biomass per unit area has increased. Forest ecosystems can be found in all regions capable of sustaining tree growth, at altitudes up to the tree line, except where natural fire frequency or other disturbance is too high, or where the environment has been altered by human activity. The latitudes 10B0 north and south of the equator are mostly covered in tropical rainforest, and the latitudes between 53B0N and 67B0N have boreal forest. As a general rule, forests dominated by angiosperms (broadleaf forests) are more species-rich than those dominated by gymnosperms (conifer, montane, or needleleaf forests), although exceptions exist. Forests sometimes contain many tree species within a small area (as in tropical rain and temperate deciduous forests), or relatively few species over large areas (e.g., taiga and arid montane coniferous forests). Forests are often home to many animal and plant species, and biomass per unit area is high compared to other vegetation communities. Much of this biomass occurs below ground in the root systems and as partially decomposed plant detritus. The woody component of a forest contains lignin, which is relatively slow to decompose compared with other organic materials such as cellulose or carbohydrate. The biodiversity of forests varies considerably according to factors such as forest type, geography, climate and soils b in addition to human use. Most forest habitats in temperate regions support relatively few animal and plant species and species that tend to have large geographical distributions, while the montane forests of Africa, South America and Southeast Asia and lowland forests of Australia, coastal Brazil, the Caribbean islands Central America and insular Southeast Asia have many species with small geographical distributions. To pick up the diamond from Dubai Airport, Rocky (Chunkey Pandey) is sent. However, a dreaded underworld don, Moscow Chikna (Arbaaz Khan) kidnaps Rocky and steals the diamond from him. After completing his job, Moscow Chikna kills Rocky and flees. The story then twists to another underworld don, JD (Zakir Hussain) also has his eyes on the stolen diamond. To steal the diamond from Moscow Chikna, JD sends a team of foolish robbers, including Raja (Shahid Kapoor), Tina (Ayesha Takia), Chobey (Paresh Rawal) and an dimwit pilot Puttu (Johnny Lever). As they fail to rob the diamond, they witness Moscow Chikna being murdered by an unknown gangster named Gunmaster G9 (Jackie Shroff). They manage to steal the diamond, but refuse to hand it over to JD. They escape from JD's trap, who then sends out gangsters looking for the four idiots. To get them out of trouble, comes Raja's uncle Munna (Sunny Deol), who is also added to JD's wanted list. On top of all this, a bankrupt gambler Lucky (Vivek Oberoi) is stalking Munna to make him fight in a Gambling Punch match. Through out the movie we have our four robbers in comedy acts with Chobey and Puttu breaking the Fourth wall at times. Luckee gets Munna to fight for him but Munna gets beaten in the first and second round, while this is going on Raja is learning from his uncle and fights off some goons. Raja makes a call to Lucky and tells him to tell Munna will fight for Raja, so Munna gets up and beats three people at once and wins the money. As JD attempts to shoot Munna and Luckee, luckee jumps in and push JD in the water supposedly to his death. The movie end off with Chobey and Puttu explaining that the diamond was inside the dog the whole time and that Raja and Tina will get married, Chobey tricks Puttu into getting more money. The movie ends with Mike Tyson special appearance in a song. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 May 2021 13:45:36 -0400 From: "CVS Reward" Subject: Your Hundred Dollar CVS Offer Is Waiting Your Hundred Dollar CVS Offer Is Waiting http://promindboost.us/-_MgaG6dIK23LAztONdfYTB-sUwqhtI0-AvxuJ4JS9kZfQD5 http://promindboost.us/PcYMVEBSMsq6dkgTG_8ArkN56QqBVoG3Kgd5fSQk32C_FtWA anu Sharma and Manoj Kumar Sharma, aka Manu are a couple in London that married 4 years ago and have an unhappy and dysfunctional marriage. Tanu gets Manu detained in a mental asylum, and returns to her hometown Kanpur, India, when her friend Payal calls her from India and tells Tanu that she has given birth to a baby girl. Before leaving London, Tanu rings Manu's friend Pappi Kutti in Delhi and tells him to immediately leave for London and release Manu. In Kanpur at her parents' home, Tanu encounters a crafty law student called Chintu who has become a lodger but refuses to pay rent nor does he vacate. Chintu befriends Tanu and slowly develops a crush on her, bemused by her antics. Tanu also comes to know that her ex-boyfriend, Raja Awasthi, is getting engaged to another girl. Pappi reaches London and gets Manu out and they reach India, where Manu sends a legal notice to Tanu to make her apologise, but she does not respond. One day Manu goes to Delhi University to give a medical speech, where he sees Kusum Sangwan, a young Haryanvi student-athlete, who resembles Tanu. He slowly gets obsessed with Kusum and keeps following her despite Pappi's warning. One day after Kusum confronts them, Manu tells her about Tanu. Kusum sympathises and they gradually develop feelings for each other. Manu tells Kusum he wants to marry her and meets Omi, her elder brother. Omi has no issues with Manu but shows a picture of the boy his wife wanted Kusum to marry, who turns out to be Raja. Payal Gill, Tanu's best friend calls Tanu and confides that her newborn baby's father is not her husband Jassi Gill. Chintu gets jealous of Raja going around with Tanu and tells her father about it. He even sends Manu a nasty legal notice for a divorce, without Tanu's consent, but Manu responds by agreeing, which shocks Tanu. She confronts Chintu who says he loves her but Raja shoves him off. The mantle plume beneath the east-ward moving Nazca Plate (51 km/myr) has given rise to a 3-kilometre-thick platform under the island chain and seamounts. Besides the GalC!pagos Archipelago, other key tectonic features in the region include the Northern GalC!pagos Volcanic Province between the archipelago and the GalC!pagos Spreading Center (GSC) 200 km to the north at the boundary of the Nazca Plate and the Cocos Plate. This spreading center truncates into the East Pacific Rise on the west and is bounded by the Cocos Ridge and Carnegie Ridge in the east. Furthermore, the GalC!pagos Hotspot is at the northern boundary of the Pacific Large Low Shear Velocity Province while the Easter Hotspot is on the southern boundary. The GalC!pagos Archipelago is characterized by numerous contemporaneous volcanoes, some with plume magma sources, others from the asthenosphere, possibly due to the young and thin oceanic crust. The GSC caused structural weaknesses in this thin lithosphere leading to eruptions forming the GalC!pagos Platform. Fernandina and Isabela in particular are aligned along these weaknesses. Lacking a well-defined rift zone, the islands have a high rate of inflation prior to eruption. Sierra Negra on Isabela Island experienced a 240 cm uplift between 1992 and 1998, most recent eruption in 2005, while Fernandina on Fernandina Island indicated an uplift of 90 cm, most recent eruption in 2009. Alcedo on Isabela Island had an uplift of greater than 90 cm, most recent eruption in 1993. Additional characteristics of the GalC!pagos Archipelago are closer volcano spacing, smaller volcano sizes, and larger calderas. For instance, Isabela Island includes 6 major volcanoes, Ecuador, Wolf, Darwin, Alcedo, Sierra Negraa and Cerro Azul, with most recent eruptions ranging from 1813 to 2008. The neighboring islands of Santiago and Fernandina last erupted in 1906 and 2009, respectively. Overall, the 9 active volcanoes in the archipelago have erupted 24 times between 1961 and 2011. The shape of these volcanoes is that of an "overturned soup bowl" as opposed to the "overturned saucer plate" of the Hawaiian Islands. The GalC!pagos's shape is due to the pattern of radial and circumferential fissure, radial on the flanks, but circumferential near the caldera summits. It is the circumferential fissures which give rise to stacks of short lava flows. The volcanoes at the west end of the archipelago are in general, taller, younger, have well developed calderas, and are mostly composed of tholeiitic basalt, while those on the east are shorter, older, lack calderas, and have a more diverse composition. The ages of the islands, from west to east are 0.05 Ma for Fernandina, 0.65 Ma for Isabela, 1.10 Ma for Santiago, 1.7 Ma for Santa Cruz, 2.90 Ma for Santa Fe, and 3.2 Ma for San Cristobal. The calderas on Sierra Negra and Alcedo have active fault systems. The Sierra Negra fault is associated with a sill 2 km below the calde ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V14 #6640 **********************************************
